  1. I'm now about to service my 996, I'm going to order a service pack off motorapido, just wondered what is the best oil to use? I know this has probably been asked a million times before.

  2. Motul 300V expensive but my bikes worth it.

  3. What Birdie said.

Expensive? Yes but we are only talking another £20 or so each time its changed. How much would a rebuild cost?

  4. 15 50 btw

  5. I'd rather spend they little bit extra on maintanance than fork out for a rebuild. I had a ktm 690 enduro as my last bike, and was using motorex, there's not a lot of difference in the price, but you could get a 2 services out of one can.

How many litres does it take?

  6. Should take about 4 liters with an oil cooler.

  7. Always used rock oil till the oil change before last, where 15-50 silkolene was used.bike now done over 41000 and never ever used oil between changes, but silkolene would need about 250ml per 700 miles?had oil changed yesterday ,back to rock oil and not sure if its in my head but the engine did feel less vibes and smoother?

  8. Motul is the best without a doubt, if you can afford it use it.
