Hello all! I bought a 1299s in June this year and I love the bike in every way in fact it's the best bike I've ever owned and I've had many Ducatis. It's a 2015 bike bought from a main dealer and has only covered 4,500 miles. I have no issues with the dealer by the way who were a pleasure to deal with. In the last two or three weeks, I've noticed an issue with the gear selector when I try to get out of 1st gear into second (both clutch and QS) and, intermittently, it sticks and almost jams in 1st unless I use excessive force to move it upwards. I've also noticed that I often cannot get the bike into neutral which is really annoying. The bike is booked in with the dealer next month for a diagnostic but I just wondered if anybody has suffered similar issues? Many thanks. Mike
I had the same on mine , the clutch needed bleeding at the lever end. 5 min job and it was all sorted.
Yep, chances are, clutch line needs bleeding. Chain tension can also have an effect on changing gear (if moving).
I agree above with chain. I have no idea why and hopefully someone can explain it to me but Ive noted over the yrs that a poorly tensoined chain can result in difficulty with nuetral. Edit: these guys say this helps, Im not sure neither am i endorsing as Ive not used their product. But I came across this https://racetorx.co.uk/product/rtx440/
Thanks a lot Bootsam! The bike is under warranty but it does look like a chain issue doesn't. The false neutral is also a factor on my bike - forgot to mention that in my description and it does happen a couple of times on every ride.
Thanks for the replies - much appreciated. The bike is booked in for a clutch bleed which should hopefully sort the problem.
