848 wheel options

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by ginger, Jul 31, 2013.

  1. I was just wondering if any other model wheels fit the 848, I'm after a set of cheap wheels for my track bike to stick some wets on. If other models fit, it will give me more options when looking for some second hand ones on eBay.

Am I right in thinking the 1098 uses a different size axle on the rear?

  2. I sold a pair for £600 which seems the going rate without discs, 700 with

Hyper fits front and rear, as I think do M1100 ones, plus a 749/999 front will. I'm still uncertain if a 748 etc rear will as the axle seems the same, the sprocket carrier etc is too, and I wonder if it would work...

  3. I'm looking for some at the moment myself, from my research a 1x98 front will fit but the rear is a different size hub.

Hypermotard and S4RS wheels are both the same fitment as the 848 ones.

  4. arents S4RS and 996 etc the same?

  5. nope the S4R has the same wheels as a 996 but the RS runs the 848 age wheels :upyeah:

  6. 9*6 rear fits M1100..ergo, it should also fit 848.

  7. its more the front that is the issue for the 5 bolt disc mounts, any of the single sided rears other than the 1x98 should fit I think

    I think...

  8. Well that opens huge opportunities. If cheap wet wheels, an old 916 rear wheel is going to be cheapest option and a 749 front can normally be picked upmfor not too much.

  9. 1098 rear is large hub and won't fit.
Rear 748/916/996 and so on - rear will fit.

Pretty sure 848 and 1098 runs same front fitment, poss even 749/999.

  10. Aparemtly you can run 916 front too with 748r discs or specers to make them the right offset

  11. You can

  12. I was hoping a 916 etc wheels would fit, just hope they are a bit cheaper than 848 wheels

  13. Oh yes! They are a lot cheaper
