Right... Ive got a blank canvas...for the 848  havent bought nout yet, just opened up a fleebay account, oh dear Was thinking the below, i dont want to go too mad. Just tastefully bling it out. Already have rear hugger, double bubble clear screen, stubby levers C-Fibre keyguard C-Fibre front hugger ( have a rear ) C-Fibre heel guards Front white number board White Pinstripe for the tank ? Or maybe an off centre pinstripe ? ( didnt see any yet ) So looking to see what you have done to your 848 / 1098. ( i tried to search but "848" brings up way to many options to crash the server - no kidding! It was a case of " computer says no" ) If you have any pics / threads for devine inspiration please send em on..tks
Highlights...bike Fs btw *Ohlins forks *TTX shock *Akro slip ons *CJS custom map showing 139rwbhp and smooth as silk *QA throttle *Sigma slipper clutch *case, fork and frame protection *replaced Red wheels with Black…looks far better imho *carbon swingarm cover, exhaust guards, hugger, single seat *have fixed corse type rear sets amended to fit from 996 *aftermarket levers much nicer than original and black *BT016 tyres
I proper blinged mine up 1. Had suspension set up and bike lowered 2. Carbon rear hugger 3. DP Tank pad 4. "El Toro" sticker on fairing
I had to get rid of the fish tank bowl screen first! Second, sort a good zorst! Just bought a superpole seat now fer mi poor arse.
Maybe try some mods that will actually improve the bike and suit how u ride. Carbon fibre key guard! There's much better stuff to blow your money on. Get some loud exhausts on it for a start
I got my suspension set up, got shot of the original number plate hanger and rear indicators and replaced them with an integrated rear tail light. Samco coolant hoses, rear sets, changed the grips for some Progrip examples and the obligatory smattering of carbon fibre including rear hugger, key guard and chain guard (for some reason neither are fitted) fairing lowers and finally some stomp grips and a tank protector
Suspension set up is the number one, I nearly sold my 848 (track bike) as the handling was that bad on standard settings, took it to kais and they did their magic, bloody stunning now!!
On an 1198s - by previous owner – full race exhaust system (Termi) race ECU with remap carbon key guard slipper clutch HM quick shifter carbon tank in fills carbon underseat in fills carbon air tubes valter moto rearsets carbon belly pan quick action throttle front sprocket/rear sprocket chain conversion carbon sprocket cover carbon rear seat inserts carbon heat shield cover carbon tank pad by me – carbon swingarm cover carbon hugger smoked DP screen suspension setup super pole seat Speedymoto yoke evotech tail tidy DP carbon mirrors mini led indicators on rear DP handlebar weights Rizoma billet reservoir covers carbon clutch cover carbon v-piece carbon/alloy fuel cap carbon instrument housing titax levers valter moto carbon heel guards pretty sure that there will be some more stuff that I can't remember. I agree entirely with the other posters that the most important modifications are things that make the thing ride properly; suspension is number one in my opinion and then probably slipper clutch, exhaust it is pretty fun adding the tarts handbag stuff especially the stuff that simply bolts on! Enjoy!
What did u get done at Kais did he just setup the clickers or change any parts I think I might take mine there when I get round to it
Just setup, it was way off. I will be getting it re-sprung and valved to my weight as I am on the small/light side. Kais have done both my track bikes and improved both of them, they really know what they are doing.
Good to know its about the closest place to me with a good reputation there's not much up here in Cumbria I know some mx boys who have went to Kais and said there really good
Bit of a bump here.... I done what some have said and its made a huge difference. Suspension setup. Local guy here in Dublin www.ndmoto.com has a wealth of experience setting up road / race bikes and worked for a big tuning crowd in the UK here. Also, fully trained / qualified Ohlins specialist and he knows a thing or two. Anyway, he adjusted the static & dynamic sag on top of the front end. I was a little lost when he explained it, but when I took to the road, different bike, for the better. I was hoping on and off the bike as he went. Some crazy apparatus he was using too. The rosso tyres that are on it now are shagged, so Im gonna change to Bridgestone BT30's. See here: http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f31/bridgestone-s20s-bridgestone-t30s-14090/ Will update as I go, so far thats it. Weathers been sh1t here, nearly highside on the r/about coming home on Sat but kept it together and didnt panic ( wasnt even raining, roads were soaked like glass, lucky ). So get the new rubber on and go from there.
I had mine resprung and valved, not a cheap mod but it handles like a dream. And I got some free Kais stickers lol
Im 92 kgs ( i know - a tad heavy ) BUT, the standard shock / spring seems to be fine. New rubber soon, will know then...
