Hi,I’ve been trying to download software (jpdiag)so I can reset the tps on my 1098.the bike has the typical rough idle and stalling problems associated with needing a tps reset.I’ve applied for the software numerous times but I’ve had no luck.am I doing something wrong or can anyone share me their software?cheers for any help or advise
The download is free and runs on windows. If it’s JPDiag then there’s no need to get a licence key from JP. If it’s MelcoDiag then you’ll need to apply to JP for the licence key (which is free) once you have it connected and can send him the vehicle information report. What’s the issue, you can’t download it or can’t get it to connect?
Try IAWDiag from Guzzidiag https://www.von-der-salierburg.de/download/GuzziDiag/IAWDiag_V0.50.zip You need to select the choice that matches your TPS type (PF2C?) JPDiag download page https://jpdiag.akress.com/ Guzzidiag is Licence free JPDiag requires a licence for the 1098
Cheers for reply, just can’t download the software and I need a key to use the software ,when I can download it
Not the same bike but similar (?) - I used ScanM5X to reset the TPS on my now sold 1198S. I can loo out which leads I used to connect it to the bike if it helps. I don't remember any problems. PS - works on an Android phone.
Do not buy off ebay. Good chance the lead will be WinChipHead and not FTDI. Pay extra and get from LonElec https://www.lonelec.com/product/guzzidiag-3pin-interface-cable-kit/
Hi all,I’m struggling to get my head around ordering the correct cable.my 2008 1098 has a 4 pin plug on the ecu,but it should be a 3 pin.any ideas cheers
Looking in wrong place. The connector under the seat is for the Data System to connect to record track day info. Try by ECU/battery box.
Oh your a star,I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to get my head around it.cheers I’ll have a look tomorrow.
Hi @chrisw I just looked at that video; I still reckon ScanM5X is easier to use (as long as you have an Android phone of course) - no faffing around with com ports etc. Does jpdiag do much that the Android app doesn't? Andrew
You need Bluetooth ELM327 for ScanM5X. With the USB cable you can use JPDiag/IAWDiag/All the Guzzidiag software on PC. Plus, TuneECU on Android both diagnostic and flashing.
Hi all,got the cable from lonelec and connected to the bike using Jpdiag software, works like a dream. I received the key today but I’m struggling to paste it into the Jpdiag file. Am I doing something wrong?any suggestions would be appreciated cheers
Don't the standard Windoze commands work? Select key in source (email?), Ctrl C to copy it, select appropriate field in destination (Jpdiag file), Ctrl V to paste it.
Save the cle.lic file to your PC Locate the folder that contains the .exe file to run JPDiag Copy the cle.lic file there Run JPDiag and all functions should now work
