Obd Star

  1. I’m now seriously thinking about this investing in one of these ODD Star’s.
Just wondering where is the best place to buy one from and are they able to do all the things they claim like reset service lights on the newer models.

  2. I see that Icarsoft are doing a multi manufacturer Motorbike version. I have the multi car version and it is a super piece of kit. Doesn't only diagnose and reset but can do sensor and injector coding etc. Mine was £180 and you can download 10 car manufacturers of your choice. Most are multi anyway like VAG is VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, etc so you actually get a lot more. If the bike version is as good it's a bargain.

  3. This is a new one on me then, can the connect to the later Ducati models?

  4. OBD Star works well for me. The model I have is Ducati only though not restricted to an individual bike. Some other diagnostic tablets limit their licencing to one vehicle per licence. Not sure if I can buy software to work with other marques, seems the same unit is available for BMW etc. plus a bigger brother with multiple marques but at far more money.

With my 1260 Mutley the OBD Star can read codes, resets service indicators, enables OEM accessories such as heated grips, spotlights etc. You can check the functionality for each model by downloading the spreadsheet from the above address. The interface is good, easy to use, it comes with two Ducati specific connectors. There have been updates to the coverage since I bought mine mid last year, easy to apply.

Make sure, whichever make you choose, you're buying from a UK supplier with UK stock. Support and price without import duty.
