2013 model vibration noise

  1. Just covered the first 600 miles on my 2013 bike and whilst really happy at the improvements over the 2012 model there is a really annoying vibration sound that comes into play between 3&4k rpm. It sounds almost tinny or plasticky and is comming from the front end of the bike. I did think that maybee it was linked to the suspension but that doesn't make much sence. I am now thinking that it's the break line against the left hand fork leg as they touch when the bike is stationary.

Has anyone had anything similar and found the cause

  2. I was under the impression that it's resonance from the screen.

  3. Earplugs :upyeah:

  4. Have you checked the screen screws under the 2 rubber covers. These usually need tightening.

Look at the dash and top left and right you'll see 2 rubber parts. Remove those lift screen to highest position. Allen key the 2 fittings. Carefully replace the rubber parts and test to see if the noise is still there.

  5. You are spot on, I did mine a last week, and made a significant difference. You need to play with it, because if they are too tight the screen cannot slide up and down. but tightening them to the point that the screens moves with some resistance has taken away the rattle.

There was also another post about a recall, but that was not available in Australia according to my dealer, although I would not need it after tightening those nuts.

  6. I will have a look at mine once I get home.

I have the exact same noise but only now and again.

    Cheers for the info folks.

  7. Windscreen rattles at some revs. Not a biggy.

  8. Mine has just started doing the same. Will get dealer to SoRt at first service

  9. Yes mine too! Been trying everything to find it. Grabbing bits on the move to see if it stops. Lol. Ill try the rubbers. Thanks phantom

  12. Is that an ipad strapped to the handlebars?

  13. And to add to that very good illustration of where to find the solution, once you have taken those rubbers out you need to slide the screen to the top most position to see the 2 nuts that need tightening. Should take a couple of minutes, well worth the trouble.
