848 Streetfighter Air Filter

  1. Hi guys, very new to the ducati world.
I have a 2013 streetfighter 848, I've bought a new airfilter and hoping to fit it this weekend.
Am i right in thinking its just a case if removing a cover theat sits behind the headtube in the trellis frame to expose the original airfilter?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jay.

  2. Thanks mate no idea why but I thought I had to take the tank off

  3. If it's anything like an 848/1098, you may find that one or more of the captive threaded bushes in the air box spin, preventing removal of the airtube.
This will make a simple task into a sweary one.

  4. Sounds about right mate, I'm going to have a little look at them later in the garage, filters not arrived yet but no harm in removing the bolts

  5. you might also find that the filter could benefit from an extra bit of foam/padding in the width department if it is the same as "superbike" 1098 type. It was a minor design drop-off and sometimes the extra foam comes with a new filter kit. If you see any debris that's got past filter when you remove old one, then this will confirm, otherwise possibly ignore this post. :upyeah:

  6. The pipercross filter was about 4mm longer than the original, and sealed a lot tighter than the original did, the original looked in very good condition tbh and the airbox was very clean, thanks though mate

  7. Can we gather that the air tube fasteners weren’t a problem? Good news if so.
