I've decided that being able to see my speedo needle would help - while white on white looks mint (!) I'm sure it would be better if it was the original colour I'm not going to do it myself and a search shows a varety of websites but who knows how good they actually are - does anyone have any reccommendations out there ?
I have specialized in refurbishing these SS dashboards. If interested, please DM me. I live in the Netherlands.
Hi Hans - I've seen your work and it's great (and I have a set of termis from you) - the only issue is the customs hassle with sending the clocks into the EU and ensuring I only have to pay VAT on the cost of the work not the value of the clocks...
I have used these people for bike and car instrument repair previously, with success: https://www.speedograph-richfield.com/shop/instrument-repairs . These people were also recommended, but not used: https://www.speedycables.com/instruments/gauge-repairs-conversions/ ; Vintage Restorations - John Marks - [email protected] . I am informed that John Marks may be partly retired now, but might be worth checking if interested. I hope this helps. Tom.
Hello mate. For a minute there I thought you had snuck into my garage and taken a pic of my clocks! Let me know how you get on. Yes it would be nice to be able to read the clock but remember they are Italian!!
You’re right, not worth the cash in this case. Good luck with your quest though! Hope the termis are fine! Hans
^^ Very rapid reply - "I regret we are unable to refurb this make of instrument." Save anyone else chasing them for SS clocks.
I've dealt with a few of those instruments although for cracked bezels and / or lenses. The problem is getting the bezel off without breaking it. Sometimes it works ok, sometimes not. I can do them for you but I'd fit new aluminium bezels and thicker lenses. I manufacture these myself. If this is a option for you let me know.
