Hi All After owning most makes of bikes, I' finally succumbing to the lure of a Ducati in a Hypermotard 939 guise! I only use a bike for commuting into London and have had great fun doing so on other Motards in the past, XTX, 690 Duke, CCM etc. Having seen someone hustle a Hyper through London, it got me thinking I should have one of those! So I've joined up to read up on the hyper and their engines, servicing costs etc. See you on the forums!
Welcome I'd recommend getting the low-end fuelling sorted before trying to commute on it. This is what I'm going to sort on mine as it's really hard to keep it feeling good at slow speeds (officer!), but not impossible... Once off small throttle openings it's grin, grin, grin all the way
That is a concern as in Londons rush hour traffic, I'm normally in the first 3 gears at small throttle openings and that always shows up poor fuelling on bikes. I've had a couple of bikes remapped and even some success with booster plugs to help with this. I'm just reading up on what solutions there are for the Hyper.?
Test ride the bike. Making the 937cc engine EU5 emissions compliant, means you’ll spend a lot of time filtering in 1st and 2nd gear at 4000rpm. I have ridden that engine in both the Hyper and the Monster and it’s great fun and very rewarding on an open road. Slow speed town performance is not as flexible as a modern JIL4 engine. Andy
