Monster Paintwork Ceramic Coated

Discussion in 'Detailing and cleaning' started by NBB, Mar 2, 2023.

  1. Final job over the winter was to get the paintwork in order. 3 stage machine polish and a coating Krypton5 Ceramic Coating. This was after new tyres, various Ilmberger carbon parts and new chain and sprockets. Changed the wheel colour too. Black bars and the forks anodising black at some point too but probably no time now as it’s nearly time to ride.

  2. Sweet job & I'd have gone with illberger matt carbon, if I'd of known how my carbon looks with stone-chips. Love the german brand'

  3. I was very lucky with the carbon as it was in a 50% off sale at Performance Parts Ltd. Just need a rear hugger now and the side panels, then I think I’m done spending

  4. Looks great. Well done. :upyeah:

  6. Brilliant work, I can’t imagine how long that took you!
Love the wheel colour, are they powder coated or painted? I just had my fork lowers Cerakote’d and I think it would work great on wheels.

  7. Wheels are powder coated. Subaru gold. the exhaust has been cerakote’d satin black. I’m going to get the fork legs done next winter hopefully.

  8. i really like the colour of the wheels
i don't like cleaning so will stay with the black but the exhausts could be a time saver for me

  9. Ceramic coat the wheels and they clean so easy.
I was lucky with the exhaust as my powder coating firm I use for all the wheel refurbs did me it at cost, £80.

  10. i will get the exhaust done when i remove it for the next belt change im fed up with cleaning it
most of the time its getting the residue of my tracky bottoms off after i melt them puting the bike away :(

  11. I did the same with my jacket once. Polished it to death and then went on a trip to wales. Stopped for a cold one and draped my jacket over the tank not realising the cuff was resting on the top. Came back to a black mess and an uncomfortable cuff for the next three days.

  12. Looks really well. Was also considering getting the 3 stage machine polish and the Krypton5 ceramic thingamybob. £250 to get the whole bike done apparently which on the face of it thought it was a tad expensive! But your bike does look well. :upyeah:

Did you get the Ceramic Coating locally? I can see you're in North Yorkshire and if you did, can I ask where you got it done by any chance?

  13. I am a detailer so did it myself. £250 is a great price really considering the amount of work that goes into preparing a bike and then the final finish.
I get my products from Tony at https://www.kryptonceramic.com/ where I worked for 7 year before retiring. There’s nothing Tony doesn’t know about paint protection, after working for the market leaders in previous roles. You can research Tony’s history by googling his full name, Tony Spears. If you get stuck or need a hand, you can always get in touch and I’ll happily meet up with you to help you out however I can.

  14. I know Tony very well. He's one of the best detailers out there. :upyeah:
