Hello Fellow Bike Purists! Just wanted to say hi because I have dug my bike out of storage and I am putting it on the road again. My bike is a 1968 Ducati 250 Monza, widecase. I acquired it in 1988. It had a fresh bottom end by none other than the late Henry Hogben (RIP). I restored it in 2002, then stopped riding shortly thereafter when my son was born. I have neglected it for 20 years, so this will take some work and I am bound to have a question or two. Hope to be chatting with you soon!
Thanks everyone! It was clean - those pics are from 2002. It was stored inside but the storage years weren't kind. I'll get her back to her former glory!
I think it might be a rare bike. In Mick Walker's book he says they added the chrome fenders and chainguard to the 'square styling' bikes in 1968 when the widecase came out in a last ditch effort to rescue the US export market, but it was too little, too late.
