Suspension set up

  1. Had my bike 18 months. Bought various bling parts for it. Now I've decided, on the advice of many members on the forum to get my suspension professionally set up tomorrow. Looking forward to feel the difference. Taking her to JHS Racing in Bristol, not too far away from Riders.

  2. How'd it go? Interested to hear how you got on....

  3. Sorry Kentish. I had too reschedule it. Back their next wed

  4. Had suspension done. Rode back in pouring rain, so no chance to tell the difference. Got out this morning, and what a difference. Bike is a look smoother even over bumps, and corners its smooth and fills you with more confidence to go that bit faster.
Not much change too compression in front and rear just a turn out. Rebound front half turn out, rear 5 clicks out.
Best £35 I've spent on the bike, and I think that's the cheapest thing I've bought for it! Can't recommend enough

  5. I'm considering buying an 848SF but was slightly put off after a test ride due to the hard suspension, although to be fair the bike was brand new.
Are those settings relative to the standard settings? Sounds like they've softened everything all round. Is yours an 848?

  6. Yes, mines an 848 the setting were standard when I picked it up. Wish I'd done it then. Like it even more!

  7. This is on my to do list this week!

  8. It's the first thing i do to any bike I buy,

  9. Same as myself, but have the fighter only a few weeks and havent got out too much with the weather. I'll have a fiddle with it this week me thinks

  10. Sounds good !! money well spent mate. Was wondering if anyone has had a 1098s set up ?? would love to get some ball park settings to start with the static sag etc is simple but would love to fine tune the other settings

  11. Loads of sites out there, google motorcycle setup, which give you good guides as to the base sag etc settings
