Really sorry to start a thread that I do know has been discussed. However, I have a specific question. I've seen loads of threads about the Touratech and DP comfort seats. I actually just missed a Toruatech seat on ebay - grrrr. Since I can't find a Touratech or DP to buy a new one - I'm left guessing a bit. I have read that the 1260 seat fits the DVT - if that's true I can see 1260 comfort seats for sale. My question is which is the right one? On searching - I can see seats that look like mine (2018 1260 - 96880571A on ebay) - but if I google that number I get pictures of what look like an enduro model or something that doesn't look like mine. It's exactly the same for the 96880671A. Does anyone know for sure which 'currently available' seats fit the 1200 DVT? Also - if anyone is selling one - please give me a shout - from what I have read - the original (no longer available) Touratech seems to be the best. thanks in advance. Raymond.
To help people return accurate info, how heavy are you? Me 14stone, I use a airhawk2 seat cushion instead of upgrading my seat.
Be careful with PNs on eBay, plenty of sellers don't have a clue what they're selling (yes, there's a story there). Best place I've found for cross referencing PNs is the Ducati Omaha site. They've got all the parts books and will tell you what the superseded PN is in their part look up.
Touratech seat is the best one, the same seat fits both the 1200 DVT and 1260 DVT. The ‘comfort seat’ is usually the Ducati version if it doesn’t specifically say Touratech
The Touratech seats were only made for the 1200 DVT. Beware that the Enduro model, despite also having a DVT engine, has a completely different seat. However, the 1260 (again not the Enduro) uses exactly the same seat pan as the 1200 DVT so the Touratech does fit. Though Ducati decided to drop the Touratech option and produce their own aftermarket comfort seat for the 1260. I'm guessing as this was more profitable for them. Allegedly the Touratech ones are superior in terms of comfort. I have both rider and pillion Touratech comfort seats and, IMHO, they're far better than the OEM ones that came fitted to my bike. They aren't plush comfortable, rather they're firm but supportive with the right profile and decently grippy, but not too grippy, cover material. No problems over extended two week tours whereas the OEM seats had my arse smarting at the first fuel stop on day one and getting worse day after successive day to the point where it wasn't comfortable as soon as I got on the bike. Somewhat disgraceful that Ducati didn't get this right on their premium touring flagship... The only time the Touratech has caused me any grief was on a 500 motorway dash from Scotland to get home to a sick/ailing dog. And even then it was only mildly uncomfortable for the last 100 miles or so. My girlfriend didn't complain once on our Corsica trip last year so assuming that the Touratech pillion seat is as effective as the rider one. I've learnt not to ask leading questions
I’ve just visited a really cool shop called Sportouring in Abercynon - and picked up an Airhawk SEAT (not pad) for my 1200 DVT. Completely transforms the comfort of the bike, and insulates the old derrière from the ‘buzz’ at cruising speeds.
I didn't find the Touratech seat very comfortable, despite it being thicker. I used mine for a very few miles and sold it on. I now run a Pikes Peak low seat and its been brilliant, its far better shaped and a bonus is its a bit lower. The PP has an alcantara cover too, so no sliding about. I can do 200 miles plus with no discomfort, previously I was struggling at 50 miles on both standard and Touratech seats. Any seat for a Multistrada touring seat from 2015 DVT to any touring 1260 will interchange. The Enduro versions use different seats.

Touratech comfort seat is absolutely superb. I was a bit underwhelmed first few rides on it but now it’s superb and I don’t get a sore backside even doing long stints. One stop in 300 miles is no problem now.
