  2. What would you be asking for the motor?

  3. I really dont know, my rule of thumb is half the price of a new one for starters. New V4R motor is £25K in parts for 2023 according to Motorapido.
Would you like to pm me to discuss over a call perhaps?

  4. He can't pm you as his post count is below 30

  5. Thanks - thats useful to know :)

  6. Its true, thanks for jumping to point that out Ducbird Im not on here much and rarely post unless its for cool goodies like this V4R engine. However thats higher than I can get a rebuilt one from Gian over at Tamburini Factory so would pass regardless. Thanks anyway. Regards

  7. Good Luck :)

  8. Wilf was flogging a new V4R engine before Christmas for £9k if memory serves me so that might give you a ballpark figure to gauge yours against.

  9. Thanks very much - seems about right but depends very much on use in my opinion.

  10. Of course, their’s was a brand new never used engine, so it gives you something to price your used one against. :upyeah:

for anyone considering installing into an 1100 V4, V4R throttle bodies / airbox and a gear selector / linkage change is required to get it working… as well as the mapping which Wilf could sort.

  11. Yes exactly - will probably sell it as a spare motor with the whole bike which I will put up shortly, think I met you at Donny a year or so ago - mine is/was an Orange V4RS - urs was a V4 you were selling ?

  12. Ah yes, I remember that was a beauty of a bike! Carbon monocoque as well :upyeah:

I spoke to Wilf and John at PBM about getting an R engine for mine, as it’s the nearest I’d get to owning an R :joy: but the stars didn’t align and then it sold anyway.

I was doing a build on here but hit an electrical problem that even Nelly could fathom so bought an RSV4, took it to donny, hated it and then won a salvage speciale im converting into a track bike. So need to sort that build thread out and start another :joy:

What’s your plans, newer V4R or different brand?

  13. Yes, that was you fella - quick on that S I remember!
Been a nice journey but I want to try the Moto2 route and see what this nutz has taught me ?!?
Since then put a longer swingarm on plus a termi system, was at Sstone on Sat - was great fun, even though it was cold

  14. Very nice, presume the handling is better even for us mere mortals with the extended swingarm? Pierobon I assume ;)

I bet those moto2’s are fun, have to put a review up on here how you find it compared to that beast you’ve painstakingly built :upyeah:

  18. I have an old ELF/Marc VDS Kalex Moto2 and it has to be the ultimate rider’s bike. Pure, raw and wildly exhilarating, with braking and handling that are unmatched and chassis feel that is utterly addicting. It’s loads of work compared to the V4R, but I feel the reward is greater, atleast on the relatively shorter tracks I ride.

  19. That’s a work of art! Don’t think I’ll ever get to ride one, I’ll stick to 3D printing the MotoGP wings to stick on the V4 :joy::joy:

@kartman tested the stegosaurus tail fins at Donington park a couple of weeks ago… apart from it making it a lot harder for him to get on the bike without kicking them not sure they accomplished much else :joy: definitely worth the hassle making them just to watch @kartman struggle to get his leg over the bike tho.

the rumour is numerous riders complained to race control about the unusually dirty air following @kartman down the straights making overtakes almost impossible… these rumours haven’t been substantiated tho :p

  20. Like a bit of dirty air! except for the one on the KTM that might push the rear down all these will couteract each other surely and yes hinder getting on and off - Look kinda cool though!

Liking the moto2 - what do you mean by 'loads of work' - I manage about 10mins on my V4R at any pace after that I am really struggling!
