That looks a good place. A mate's wife is German and we have talked about doing a trip there on the bikes but not got round to it yet. The German GP was the original plan. That was the reason for booking those two weeks off work - the week either side of Sunday race day in June. Actually fancy heading South after some Swiss scenery. Lots of options for the route. Really just want to ride my bike on some nice scenic roads in the sunshine if possible - and get a nice T-Shirt !
The trains are amazing, we traveled up to bologna to the ducati museum/ factory tours many times, my last visit to ferrari was by car though. The food in hotel vanni is amazing italian home cooked grub.
Do you buy the train tickets online or do you get them at the station from a person - or do you have to get them from some kind of ticketing machine ? The picture of the pasta dish was taken from the Hotel Vanni website - I had a quick look. Ferraris, Ducatis, Italian food and with luck some sunshine - the makings of a good holiday !
We bought tickets at the main rail station in bologna but in misano we bought at a tourist information building, the dig thing if using any public transport though is to validate your ticket, its usually a machine on the dust or train or in the station that punches your ticket to stop fraud, iv been told the inspectors are quite strict. The vanni Hotel is family run and iv stayed many times, iv always been treated as if i was family,great food great beaches and great weather, lots of local attractions, misano circuit,San Marino, tavulia, to name a few.
Is that a Hailwood Replica ? It looks a lot like the bike on the cover of "Ducati & The TT" - by Greg Pullen ! Would that be for Classic TT week ? Have you both been there before ? What a machine.
im going for the TT and i am now getting concerned about the weather, im taking a car and staying in a cottage so im up to £1500 before i even step foot on the island
My mate who lives in the Alps is over to see his folks next week. On the Friday we are going to ride down together to Coupes Moto Legende at Circuit Dijon Prenois, and after that on to his place in the Alps near Briancon. He lives 3 kilometres up an unmade road at 2000 metres and keeps a couple of old Honda trail bikes so hopefully taking in a bit of light off roading. Five days there then back to Paris for an overnight before getting back to Blighty. A week at home then off to Greece for 10 days "fly and flop" with the missus. Middle of August off to the IOM for the Classic Manx and spannering with this lot, if it's like last year mind there is no way it could be called a holiday!
Don't worry it will rain So nothing to worry about ! The weather in 2018 was glorious though wasn't it You could get really lucky with it. You probably won't spend much during the day though. Depending on where you choose to view from - you could be in the same place all day. Take some pics ! I took this one of Michael Dunlop wining the Senior on the new Gixer in 2017. Legend. ....and Michael Rutter - another Legend - 2019 Never heard of that Coupes Moto Legende, or the circuit Dijon Prenois either !! But looking at it for 2023 Carl Fogarty will be going and riding a Ducati by the looks of it. Some record that bloke has when it is all spelt out next to his name. "light off roading" .... in the Alps ...then "fly and flop"... ......spannering at the Manx..... Excellent stuff ..
i was there in 2018, was glorious, stayed up the bungalow on the friday, took our own food, ice, strawberries etc etc that or the poxy burger van all day at £2 a cup o tea

its really is a magical place, just a stunning island, with amazing roads to ride or drive, even the fishnchips sat on a cliff while the sun set, was just a special trip i go in the car (a TT appropriately) just got to be prepared, chairs, little tent etc, did 250 miles on the island alone, last time in Port Erin, this time we are staying in a cottage on the cronk y vody straight i kept bumping into a fella on an 899, first met him on the ferry, how he spent all day in leathers i dont know
I’m just back from 5 glorious days at the TT & the Mrs & I are off to kefalonia for 2 weeks, we fly next Thursday .. we’ve never been there before but hear it’s a beautiful island ️
We were initially planning on a Greek Island holiday for my upcoming 60th which sounded good to me. Then we decided to move house instead....... and country!
So I'm now on day 3 of my trip to Bosnia, and with all the talk about the TT..... Yesterday me and my mates,completely by chance bump into Guy Martin at a random Belgium petrol station..... Had a 15min pit stop chat about life/bikes and life after the TT....... Absolutely legend !!!
