I want to convert the biposto to a monoposto. Assuming the two models are indentical underneath (except for the passenger footpegs) I orderd a monoposto fairing. But are the two models identical? Can I just swap the biposto seat for a monoposto seat? Or do I have to make some modifications.
Just the seat latch at the back. A couple of spacers (20mm ish iirc). Loads of posts on here how to convert.
Did some research. The frames are different, but the seats are almost identical. Only difference is part nr 24, everything else seams the same. (I checked the parts numbers) Only strange thing is that there are two number 24 parts with different part numbers but only one shown on the picture. In the Biposto picture you can see the parts you need for a monoseat
When I put a monoposto seat on my 1998 Biposto subframe I used the seat latch off the BiP seat on the Mono seat, just turned it around 180 degrees and used spacers as @bettes mentioned above. ps. I can’t find the photos now, if/when I do, I’ll add them
Part 24 becomes part 42 in the small inset diagram along with the spacer and bolts to complete the swap.
All nice and clean with new airfilters. The frame is back, free from rust and with some new paint. The big mystery box waiting ...
Question: I am goiing to remove the taillight, so do I really need part nr 24 (42)? It looks like that plate is only used to fix the taillight.
Next problem I can't find part nr 20 - the holder plate seat mounting. Anybody knows where I can find one?
The original headlight and mirror holders are in pretty bad shape, and as I won't need those on track I've bought a new fairing and instrument holder. Cleaned everything and installed. (Mental note: take pictures BEFORE and after) The exhausts are in pretty bad shape too. Cleaned them and had them refilled only to discover one of them actually has a tiny hole in it. As it is really small I tried to fix it with some heat resistant tape, but it doesn't seam to stick on the carbon.
for the rear seat latch you will need 71311091A x 2 to extend the latch to mount on a Biposto Subframe. and the 2 screws -77350738B
Back from the suspension man. All clean and new inside I'll put links in my first post of all the firms and websites I used. Some of them have done amazing work.
