Hi to all, I have just picked up a new MTS V2S a few days ago after 6 years on a SuperSport S. Loving the bike but compared to my SSS, which I appreciate was a Euro 4 spec engine with an exhaust valve delete and a Akrapovic slip on that sounded ok, the V2S is so so quiet and the most un- Ducati bike exhaust note I have had since I started riding Dukes in 1981. The V2S factory oe slip on also looks like a cheaply made inverted letterbox! I appreciate the V2 range is Euro 5 spec and before everyone tells me to De-cat it, I have a 4 year warranty that I have paid extra for so there would be a dealer compliance issue and a loud exhaust certainly attracts the attention of the police around here so that is not an option. Exhaust valve delete is no issue however as I have done this on my last 3 modern Dukes. Ducati want big bucks for their Termignoni slip on but a similar Akra slip to the one on I had on my SSS is available at half the Termi cost so I am tempted. Whilst appreciating that most of the noise work is done in the catalytic converter, has anyone been down this track and bought or considered the Termi or Akra? Any comments on the exhaust notes of either slip ons over the oe letter box? Cheers and TIA for any guidance
Hi there - See this thread: https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/akrapovic-fitted.88879/page-2#post-2044275 I fitted the akra slip-on to my V2S ..
Brilliant Ian, thanks so much. Not sure why my Forum search didn't find that thread before I posted! Had you done an exhaust valve delete as part of the fit when you did the sound clips? Any issue with your dealer on servicing? TIA. Dave
No exhaust valve delete. No issues from the dealer - they said "Looks good. Just keep the OEM exhaust - and if there's ever a warrantry claim just swap it back".
