Hey guys, so I'm wondering what mobile phone holder your using. I've got my old one placed on the clip on at the moment, and it's far from ideal, as it's too close to really see it. So what are you all using, and whats the best one for charging the phone too. I do looooong rides and always run out of battery, around 900kms to 1000kms a day when I'm riding. Thanks for the input Tobin

I use something like this and attach it to my steering damper. Was a bit tricky with the original Sachs damper but fits well on my new Ohlins. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Adj...ar-Mobile-Phone-Holder-Mount/32817612401.html
Quad lock is the way to go, amazingly good high quality kit. Expensive but worth it. If, like me you don't have the iphone or samsung models (that use the integrated clip in the case) buy a universal clip and cut a hole in the back of the soft gel case to keep everything slimline. (The universal clip will not bond to the soft gel)
I made this one a few days ago out of a bit of carbon fibre plate and alloy angle. I wanted it to be removable easily enough and be able to throw it into the tool tray under the seat when not needed. It’s for an iPhone 6S using the Otterbox case and belt clip. The switched USB port is stashed under the dash. The Otterbox has indents in the outer casing for the belt clip which hold the phone securely enough.
I found a company called Radar Busters, they have a really nice aluminium one that goes over the fork top, think I'm going to order one of those.
Bring this thread back to life as I love quadlock phone mounts but have no idea where to fit one on my 996. Anyone got any neat solutions? This top fork bracket looks good but not sure if the poster bought one or not.
I 3d printed a bracket that goes on the steering damper. I’ve only put a camera on it so far but it works well for that. Doesn’t seem to vibrate too much.
No holders on my 996 whatsoever...I want to get lost riding her... Mobile in my pocket, you will need it eventually .. do not ask me how I know.
Vibrations impact iPhone cameras https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212803 "High-power or high-volume motorcycle engines generate intense high-amplitude vibrations, which are transmitted through the chassis and handlebars. It is not recommended to attach your iPhone to motorcycles"
It’s true. I destroyed my iPhone 11 camera after a few rides on my Fireblade. I fixed it, and it’s never been back on the bike. However, if one does want to mount the phone an anti-vibration device insert is needed. Quad-lock do one.
Returning to bikes after 25 years I too thought "why on earth would you want to bring the bloody phone with you?" Distracting, dangerous, risk of loss etc... Having listened to those that use them and subsequently experienced being totally lost, running past static speed camera's at speeds that "COULD" have got me into trouble, over pot holes that SHOULD have been called out. I quickly realised the benefits of having a dynamic voice in my ear telling me what what was coming up ahead, and a screen showing me the speed limit and safety camera positions. Having researched I also learned about vibration, and the requisite solutions available to damp these out. I appreciate it won't be for everyone, but I would NOT ride without this feature now.
i use this, very unobtrusive, comes with grommets that lock into headstock Oxford CLIQR Motorcycle Head stock Mount : Oxford Products
I got this for my 916. It’s brilliant. https://www.desmoworld.com/en/desmoworld-navi/cam-mounting-hub-fuer-ducati-916-4460 You plug a ram mount to it (adapted length if you have a tank bag) and then quadlock with vibration damper. Works a treat.
