You will get many different answers! I have tried everything, one piece only ever on a track day...hideously uncomfortable to walk around in. Would only use on track. Now I wear leather trousers (race type with stretch material for comfort) and a Rukka goretex jacket that has some good quality protection built in. This works in a variety of temperatures and climates and importantly, it is comfortable. For the record, I ride a GS, but used to wear the same gear on a Monster.
Sport bike = 1 piece leathers. Anything else = 2 piece .. as in Leather 'sport' trousers + Goretex jacket (zipped together). Obv. with armour in all the right places.

Whilst on the subject of bike jeans has anyone seen/tried the John Doe Dylan jeans? As Rokkertechs are only A rated these have appeal as they are AAA rated and additionally are significantly cheaper than the Rokkers. How effective in the real world the CE rating is I'm not sure but at least they do hopefully give some indication of the level of protection offered. I like my Rokkertechs for their fit and the amount of air they flow, now not so sure that the claimed slide time is that relevant. Yep, absolutely. Though the thread title only mentions "Leathers/jeans/jacket" to 'frame' the context of the question. Hands will frequently be the first things to make contact in an off, human instinct. Makes me wince to see riders not wearing gloves.
Leather 2 piece but summer months leather jacket/vented mesh trousers. Always wear my alpinestars techair 5 regardless of temp.

That's interesting... My Rokkertech Slim are labelled as A rated. The Rokker website confirms this. the regular Rokkertech Straight are also A rated. there is an AAA version but this only seems to have the addition of hip armour... The material spec is the same, OK construction may differ. I added hip armour to mine... Is it all smoke and mirrors? My ex's Rokker jeans, ladies high waist, bought after mine have no CE label at all. I still have these and they'll be on eBay, and here, in the next week or two.

+1 on the airbag. RST have a selection of jackets that use the excellent In&Motion system. Worth a look.
Similar to myself. Slim fitting Bullit jeans with a Dainese jacket. The jeans have knee armor, they hare a slim fit, so holds the armor in place. Not overly bulky, and fit like regular jeans. Jacket has armor and I've added a back protector.
Tried my new leather trousers I bought in October today. Bloody hell, they’re not comfortable are they?!!
A couple of years ago I slid off my r1 and was only stopped dropping into a railway cutting by hitting the bridge parapet. Wearing full leathers, and a back protector, I got up and rode away. A few weeks ago my friend clipped the back of a car at low speed wearing jeans and a barbour jacket. Got 5 broken vertebrae and some interesting scars. Pay your money, take your choice.
My own opinion is a one piece just doesn't 'go' with the bike? - wear an RST textile jacket and textile thermal padded jeans for the all weather and a nice Furygan textile jacket and some great RST Pro jeans for summer - feels right for the bike.
I've been falling off bikes and been knocked off bikes for many years now. As a result I only wear only quality gear with REALLY good armour and I have a few options to suit the circumstances. A) Alpinestars textile jacket & armoured jeans for knocking around B-roads B) Alpinestars full race leathers for the track or fast days (Forcefield back protector) C) Heavy Triumph jacket in winter to keep from freezing! BTW: helmet is the most important bit of kit! Don't scrimp on that purchase! Good luck
Yeah agree with all that - the RST jacket has a back protector and jeans and jacket are top rated armour - triple A is it or summat? My guilty secret is though I did buy some cheapo Chinese jeans from Amazon because they are so comfy for the summer - they have armour but tbh not sure how good it would be. Purely a 5 minute ride to the pub/shops gear.
