  2. Just found your thread. Your project looks great. I am also restoring a 916 and am at a similar stage. Look forward to sharing your journey FAE7115D-409F-407F-915B-52CBBC104FCD.jpeg

  3. Good luck with it, it's great to see a few of thewe getting some love. What year is yours?

  4. Another piece of the puzzle was picked up last week - the crank. It seems there needed to be quite a lot taken out of it. Feedback from the engineer was thatbwhile the overall engine is a lovely thing, the cranks are always very variable.

Anyone with one broken down would likely benefit from having the crank balanced.

  9. Hi mate.

Hope you enjoy the videos, it's been a while but work on re-assembly is due to start any minute, along with a few other bits and bobs.

Frame is now painted (again) and awaiting collection too.

Look forward to a ride and meet upnin the future once it's finished.

  10. So I collected the frame today. My request was for a 998 colour but using cerakote. This was the result.

Also, the bits I took back to be vapour blasted and cleared were coated (again) in grey! Thats twice they've done it wrong.

A ZX-7R top yoke which was meant to be returned to oem was simply cleared over.

If you look at the frame, and headlight bucket, even in this 'wrong' finish - its blotchy and rough to the touch. I wouldn't have accepted it even if the colour was correct.

I'll speak to the boss tomorrow but I think it's back to the drawing board looking for someone who can do a proper job. Any suggestions would be welcomed around the beds / bucks area.
