916 916 Sps Replacement Plaque Made

  1. Hi thanks for the tags.

regards to the plaques - I purposely made them to be slightly different finish, but a close replica of the original to finish a bike off. I don’t have any left I’m afraid.
I only made them for the 98 SPS also, and to get any more I have to make ten. Which I probably won’t do !

  2. As long as you don’t list it as a Senna, but a « replica », there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Except, may be, the depreciation of your bike’s value, if you care about your moneys…

Generally, though, people who don’t mind about the value of their vehicles can afford the « real deal ».

  3. Just for the record folks. mine's missing on the yellow 94 Superlight, but who cares as it's been through the same dealer twice now.
If no one buys it when i come to sell because it doen't have one inplace they must be idiots.!

  4. I’d venture to say that it’s not that they won’t be interested in your bike. They may just be more interested in the one sitting next to it with the plaque. Unless your price is in line with the missing plaque, of course. And so on.

And I totally agree. Difficult to understand. A bit like this “Varese” thing… :D

  5. I had people who outright wouldn’t buy my 98 sps because of the missing and replacement replica plaque. Even though it had all the correct stuff and letter from the factory stating its provenance. It’s just one of those things. With collectible stuff you always get the people who want it to be right.

  6. Exactly my point. My bike, I can do what I like or stick on any plaque on it that I fancy. There appears to be some people who suggest the seller of such replica plaques should have to check whether or not the purchaser owns the real deal bike or not. That to me is as ludicrous as a paint shop having to do the same checks before painting a vehicle to their customers wishes.

  7. I guess the question that comes to my mind is how do you know what number your bike was to have put on the replacement plaque since this is something that Ducati simply can not tell you as they didn't correlate it to anything like the VIN or engine number in their records?

  8. Well, you put 007 or 666. Problem solved!

  9. If they're worried about it that much, then get a fecking numbered tattoo on their foreheads.
