1200 DVT Multistrada 1200s Dvt Start 1st 2nd Gear Problem

  1. Hello guys,

My Ducati Multistrada 1200s DVT 2017 just received Desmo Service at 30k.

After this service, every time I start the bike (cold or warm), the revs in the 1st and 2nd gear stops at aprox 5k for 1-2 seconds(feels like no power and also some backfires) and than runs perfect in the other gears.
If I don't turn off the bike, downshifting to 1st and 2nd gear the throttle works perfectly.

I have received also a software update at this desmo service. I have Termignoni exhaust and also Healtech Quickshifter(not the problem).

The Ducati guys doesn't know what the problem can be..nothing appears on testing.

If you have some information regarding my problem please help.

  2. I think you said (on Facebook) your Termi exhaust was just the end can?

  3. Yes, just the end can. Can this be from the software update?

  4. Don't know, sounds like exhaust valve except that it runs fine in higher gears ...

  5. I also have a higher fuel consumption. Around 6.8L/100km. I believe that desmo service wasn't done right

  6. was the service at an official dealer? you have to use the correct tool on the crosshaft when doing belts on the DVT engine if not its easy to get timing wrong and the symptoms are like this

  7. Yeah, it was at a official Ducati dealer. I will go next week to them to verify this problem

  8. yes bet they lined the dot up with the mark on the clutch cover like older bikes, but that isn't relevant on DVT engines
