I have just completed my first ride in my new Schuberth C5 Flip front helmet.Having ditched my previous Schuberth E1 I am very happy with the C5.It suits my head shape and is very comfortable and the ventilation is good, no misting up of the visor. If you like Flip front helmets the Schuberth is well worth consideration.
Agree I have the C3 Pro, as in professional, not the other sort, although I’ve never questioned it before It’s a lush lid.
I’ve got a C3 Pro and. C4 Pro carbon. Been very happy with both of them. I’ll probably get the new version in another year or so
I wouldn't touch a Schuberth personally which is down to experience. My flip failed as I was riding. The helmet was closed and all of a sudden the chin part came loose and dropped. I spoke to Schuberth and they said 'the pin sometimes fails' (exact words). If I was in an accident, I wouldn't want the pin to suddenly fail or fail easily. They repaired the helmet, but it never went back on my head. Lost total confidence. I couldn't understand why Schuberth weren't overly concerned either.
I've had 5 Schuberths. J1, C3s, C3 Pros. Skipped the C4s because of bad reviews and ended up in a Shoei Neotec 2. It's much more plush. Will consider a C5 Pro next time though.
The Shoie Neotec 2 and the Schuberth C5 are good helmets Mac.I would be more than happy to wear either.
I was looking at one in the shop the other day. Not in the market for a new lid at the moment, but the idea of a flip lid is becoming more compelling
As you can see from my posts I like flip lids. The only time I revert to one of my old Shoeis is out of pure nostalgia.
I tried the Shoei Neotec 3 on the other day and it does seem very comfortable, although obviously you will only tell after a lengthy ride. Still undecided whether to go for it or wait and see if there are some discounts at the NEC bike show.
It might be best to wait for the NEC show when you may well get the opportunity to make worthwhile savings. Broduc.
Love the C3 although the drop down sun vision has partially failed. I’ve taken the mechanism apart and adjusted it so it now drops down with the use of the side slider but won’t return unless you push it up manually As part of my remedial repair the sun visor now won’t full go up which is a bit annoying.
I broke part of the sun visor mechanism on my C4Pro. I contacted the dealer (Helemt city) and they arranged for it to be collected, repaired and returned at no charge. I guess it was still under warranty though which may not be the case for you.
My C3 Pro has been back to Tran Am a few times over the years for repairs to sun visor and clear visor mechanisms. All FOC.
