  1. So…having had my ex-Dean bike for over 2 years, ridden it to Cookster’s and back for a mot (and that’s all!) it’s going to Silverstone in a couple of weeks. Figured I probably should change oil and filter, so oil, filter, o rings and washer ordered. New tyre warmers for the wider rim (mine only really cover 190 at a push) from Oxford with 3 temp settings and digital read out. Time to test the 2 grand I spent upgraded all suspension to ohlins and fit the S wheels that have been sat in the garage 2 yrs…. Oil change , how hard can that be?!

Anything else anyone recommend? New battery, new pads up front, chain looks good and I’ve prefer a map sensor just in case….

  3. You had that £2k of suspension set up for the track?

  4. When Paul built the front it was spring etc for my weight (ish) and the rear hasn’t been touched so no, not yet. Tbh haven’t even set the sag up, needs two pair of hands so may be a job to get suspension guy in the day to do

  5. Ps intention was to get a day with Paul so he could set it all up and help after I’ve done a few and got the bug again

  6. Happy to be corrected, but not sure there is a suspension guy track side at Silverstone?

  7. I have not been for a couple of years, but there was always a mention of “see the suspension people from…” in the briefing.

  8. No biggie if not, I’ll take my tools and get one of the lads to help me measure and set sag which is key part

  9. The tyre guy doubles up iirc.

  10. You’ll figure it out if you keep an eye on fork leg cable tie and rear tyre wear.

  11. Yeah it’s been a few years since I messed about with bikes and suspension, sure it will come back to me

  12. 100% suspension always used to be at Silverstone. Been awhile since I've been, so could have changed.
@graeme4130 still instructs there, so he may know.

  13. There is an Öhlins specialist that shares the tyre bay. Until recently he had a unit at Silverstone but he was moved off by BRDC, still local though. Andy

  14. if you are doing the ducati day at Silverstone then Ben of BG Motorsport UK (Ohlins dealer) will be there. Yes they used to be at Silverstone but are now away but still local.

  15. Mts suspension are usually at Silverstone

  16. Anyway, at your speed why worry? ;)

  19. Hi, Bradders. Do you have a brake lever guard fitted? That is something that has changed since the last time you rode on track, and most places demand it nowadays. Other things changed since your bike turned a wheel: the dinosaurs have died out, and theres been a couple of world wars! Dave 16919493501315182603055218234178.jpg
