Who’s been MAD enough to go out on their Bum Burner (Panigale) today. Me for one at 07:00 to go to cafe for breakfast. Bad move to ride onto Krazy Horse at Bury St Ed’s who’ve had their bloody a/c unit nicked. Called in to cool down but that didn’t happen. Even at 70mph on A11 is like the Saraha!
I went out on the Trumpet 1200 cos I needed to do some shopping. I certainly wuldna gone out on it for fun. The panis are not the only bikes that make us suffer in the heat
Been for a few short blasts on the new to me 996... that's really bad too... can't decide if it's the same or worse than my 999...I can see heat foil being a necessity.
are you guys in Leathers? as I don't seem to have the same issue.. on my 1199 i have blocked the AIS system and fitted blanking plates, this should prevent overheat on the Exhaust manifolds ( AIS is there it help heat up the Cats) also what tune do you have? DP stick or standard? and what exhaust?
I was out all day yesterday on the Hyper. Wasn’t too hot most of the time, until I was sat at some traffic lights about ten minutes from home, then I was roasting.
I was most of the day on the Multi and its wasn't too bad apart from sweating buckets. Took the Pani V4S out a quick blast just up the A10 to Silver Ball Cafe, omg the heat off this thing!
We should sue the EU for their emissions regulations that have resulted in our nether regions being fried into oblivion. On a serious note, anyone know if it’s possible yet to remap bikes with a Euro-5 ECU?
I’m sure you’ve all seen this heat camera picture of a Panigale… Basically you are riding a petrol bomb looking for somewhere to explode !! I once rode mine in a heatwave in Germany..34c..vowed then that I would never take it touring again, hence buying the Kawasaki work horse. Must admit mine is better since I cleaned out the bottom radiator, still heats up quick, but it cools down pretty quickly as well. Just to add, I only ride it in leather’s so I think that helps as well
Have an airflow on the GS. Never rest your phone on it. Thems more slippery than an ice skating eel on acid.
https://www.coolcovers.co.uk/contact-us/ I recommend this seat cover. Flows air, adds to comfort. Maybe not as cool to your eyes on a Pani but it looks and performs great on my Multi.
What am i looking at (genuinely)? I get that its a heat map but it cant be as bad as a heat map of a bike with underseat exhausts?
Yep leathers essential, even on the first touring bike ST2, my german mate bought one and had no end of fun.. The Scott oiler on my 999 nearly melted until that genius eddie Stone sorted out the running. Always reminds me of the Ogri cartoon where Malcolm extends his exhaust system to act as a heater! paul sample was a genius. And to think I roded my Sebring cafe racer through snow and slush and commuted from Edinburgh to Castlemilk on a Pantah without once overheating!
