Enduro Into Sport Settings

  1. Hello everyone. Just a questions that is buzzing in my mind lately.
I own a MTS 2010s, and I have recently discovered that in Enduro mode the abs is not active on the rear wheel.
That something I'd like to try on the road.
My question is, if I were to change all the setting of the Enduro mode in Sport mode, so 150hp high engine, and copy all the suspension setting from touring, I would basically have a bike that runs in sport mode, so full power and 1 to 1 ratio on throttle control, touring suspensions and the rear abs off.
Am I correct? Has anyone tried this before?
    Thanks for your inputs.

  2. From memory and looking at the owner's manual for a 1200S MY 2010, I think the only option is to completely disable disable the ABS. Being able to set the ABS level: (see table below) was introduced on the 1200S MY 2013.

In the 1200S My2010-2012 models with the Ohlins suspension (DES Ducati Electronic Suspension) you set up all the parameters for
    • Rear Preload
    • Front Compression Damping
    • Front Rebound Damping
    • Rear Compression Damping
    • Rear Rebound Damping
The settings are absolute values, see the table below. So you could setup a mode exactly as you wanted.

However, with introduction of Skyhook the compression and rebound damping settings were combined and simplified to 5 levels; Hard, Medium Hard, Medium, Medium Soft and Soft. These were renamed on later Multistradas (1200 MY 2015+, 1260 & the V4S) to Harder, Hard, Default, Softest and Softer). The actual compression and rebound damping settings are different for each mode, so the default setting for Touring is not the same as the default setting for Sport. Therefore with Skyhook it is not possible to change the Endoro mode suspension setting to be identical as those for Touring mode for example, as each mode has a different baseline (Default) compression and rebound damping.

So I'm a bit confused as to which model of Multistrada 1200S you have (MY 2010-2012 with DES or MY2013+ with Skyhook). If you have a MY2013+ with Skyhook you should be able to change the Sport mode to use ABS Level 1 (enable locking of rear wheel) if you really want to. While you could setup Enduro mode to have the same engine / throttle map and rear preload as the Sport mode you can't configure the damping to be identical.
