I got a quote for a patch repair on my Levi's today at a shocking £20, as with most things in life the quality's long gone down the road with jeans.
Weather was a bit bleak today so I fancied a little walk up to Captain Cooks monument in Kildale…. Looks a bit foreboding.. Better view of the monument with Roseberry topping in the background, time for a nosebag…. Today’s selection of delicacies, frothy coffee, porridge and banana and mini chocolate peanut bars,..nom-nom ! Off the top and heading back to the car I spotted this info sign.. Now I’ve been through Kildale hundreds of times on the mountain bike, but I’ve never been to the rail station or the Church, seeing as I had loads of time, I thought I’d have a dodge along. Loved that bit on the sign,…” population of Kildale…130 “ ! Spotted this fab little Granny flat along the way Little footbridge over the railway leading to St Cuthbert’s Church.. Gives a great view of Kildale railway station,…..impressive hive of activity or what A little gem right in the middle of nowhere, St Cuthbert’s Church .. Stuck my head inside and not a soul about.. And I dread to think how old these grave cover stones are ! Not a bad little easy paced wander around, enjoyed it
Rode to North Wales on the Honda scrambler for a long weekend with the wife, she took the dogs in the car and I ended up going on my bike to save the earache all the way there. It really is going to be a looooong weekend
Been enjoying the Snowdonia National Park today, glad I brought the Honda as the place we are staying is a couple of miles up a dirt track and you have to cross a ford as well. Don’t think the Gsxr would have made it
Broke my back for the second time in as many days helping with the daughters move Happy to say it’s all done with the exception of the washing machine which has to come down two flights of stairs and plumbed onto their basement! But that happens Monday, so now it’s beer time
Did a full on 2 hour workout this morning inc swim, then spent most of the day chilling out. Enjoying a g&t or two with some olives, listening to some music, before venturing into the kitchen to knock up sausage & mash with all the trimmings for dinner.
At the Ardingly autojumble this morning, when it rained i stayed inside the sheds and the opposite when dry, a reasonable amount of riders in on the day on their steeds.
Used my OBD2 plug to find the reason for the EML illuminating on Daughters Audi. Turns out faulty fuel level sensor. Bought an adaptor lead for it for my KTM to run a set of clocks through a now redundant iPhone.
I recognize those two machines from earlier, a lot of shit up 4 sale that they must move around from one stall to the next all year round. For a £7 entrance fee it's always worth a visit regardless of the weather in my opinion. P.S i hope he sold some stuff to cover his stall pitch costs.
We did a bit of shopping, then took my sister out for lunch for her birthday. Went to Loch Fyne at Gunwharf Quays, which is one of 3 left in the UK, as the rest have all closed down now.
On Day 4 of a three day cold here, and finally felt up to setting up my new phone! Yay! Though it looks like it hasn't copied archived messages over and there's clearly a lot more cruft than there used to be. I've stuck by Motorola the entire smartphone era as about the least weighed down with useless proprietary crap (*cough* Samsung *cough ... hack, wheeze, it was like I was born anew last night when I got this glob of phlegm you could have glued wood together with out! Bloody phones! I'll put the close brackets - parentheses? Looks like a idea your mum and dad might have, the dirty bastards, but it seems intuitively something about parrots to me. Anyway, I'll put it....................here).
