I can't seem to find concrete answers on this, but can you use ceramic coating on matt paint? I've got a 1260 GT which is matt grey across most of it. As is, I use an air pressured paint gun to coat the bike with ACF 50 once every 6 months which keeps it in great condition and prevents rust. But I'm wondering if it's worth slapping a ceramic coat over the bike on top of the ACF 50 for even further protection. As I only clean it once every 6 months to reapply the ACF 50, I'm looking for something to help keep the bike that little bit more sparkly over the span of the months. Thoughts?
I used this on my matt 959 Corse. It definitely helped keep the bodywork cleaner than i would have expected. https://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/products/nanolex-si3d-matte-set.aspx
I had a customer the other day on a new Scrambler with the matte red paintwork. Looked mint and got chatting. He's got his own detailing business and he'd ceramic coated that. I think he'd used Gtechniq product on it.
Use a specific matt ceramic coating, like Nanolex (I used that on my white supersport), graphene coatings are better though, not sure if you can get matt yet.
