The magnesium wheels are not a x factor lighter than the forged aluminium wheels. I certainly didn’t feel a measurable difference between the two and although I paid for the Magnesio option on my Speciale, I don't think they are value for money. If it's a simple case of stand out bling, fair enough but I’d advise applying a good quality ceramic finish. Andy
Absolutely yes, the paint is brittle. My tyre fitter used nylon full wheel protectors for both rims. Andy
Good tip to use rim protectors but the paint is no more and no less brittle than the paint on marchesini forged Ali wheels I think. It's a peculiarity of marchesini that they paint instead of anodising the wheels. Heaven alone knows why.
I've also been looking at the Marchesini M10RS, but I'm not sure I like the gold, looks a bit to yellow compared to the MAG wheels. The Ducati MAG wheels colour matches the Pani V4 engine casings.
I've ordered the Marchesini M10RS in the Ducati bronze colour as a special finish. Hope to have them Dec / Jan.
I’ve got a set of 1198/Panigale marchesini Ducati light gold coloured Forged wheels for sale soon if anyone is reading this thread and interested just drop me a message
It will be interesting to see if it does actually match the Ducati colour. I seem to remember reading something about Marchesini not be allowed to use it.
