V4 Where Is The Horn Located? Update Found It

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Martyn Edwards, Dec 6, 2023.

  1. As above, looking to replace the stock horn with a Soundbomb Mini which I understand is a direct swap with a bit of adaption of the holding bracket. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Sorted I've found it under the beak!

  2. I keep meaning to change mine. Was it easy?

  3. I've done this swap on my V2S and it was a 10 minute job. I didn't move or change any brackets .. maybe just a bit of persuasion was needed.

  4. Truly plug and play ? 5 amp draw seems high for the wiring loom but I have no idea what the OE horn draws. Andy

  5. Again, yes! You’ve been getting round to it for a year by my reckoning…

  6. Reporting back - the Denali Sound Bomb Mini fits under the beak on the OEM horn bracket. The bike's electrics cope with the Denali current draw and the horn is certainly much louder than the OEM horn.

  8. This is the one I installed: https://www.amazon.com/PIAA-76501-500Hz-Slim-Sports/dp/B003884RDW/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2KW7DM283I56O&keywords=piaa+sports+horn&qid=1702321179&s=automotive&sprefix=piaa+sports+horn,automotive,138&sr=1-2

Fits well. Just used some bar stock to extend the mount to the OEM mounting point. No other mods necessary. Much louder than stock and the 500Hz makes a big difference.
