Hello, Anyone tried one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165916408675?fits=Model:Monster+1200|Makeucati&hash=item26a1637b63:g:hcIAAOSwP3Rj2cmn&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA8BxriZIWzNiBPcgacv932x7gsRGTSt8vbu5+bR8XMk0XsWZ3eV9udQuB4FcBs+5IHQ0sRLUVyPgd/S7mmBsLT9mYbIkNffWgA9WPteEnBYBrdK8Qp4/WMjkVT2esEsYcNyxnSsHlFT8fbAdqWIvD2iawV2VlROWZIHYi2NkUKRL/OTj5BBcgV371Qtwo59b6xREGU/Y+IB+Wf9c/Xw/buewwM0afR/NNNc3UThBjDAUz7fWHngPUfZNpsp9xITUUvz4ZtZpzH4KL4+vR1OavcsyliGWzmzyppaOmgCs+8UlWc1HjvC1mSE8TmW9KgtysqA==|tkp:BFBMwK71mY9j&autorefresh=true Any expert here knowing if it would fit a 1200R -16? Hmm a bit confused - when looking at slipons for mine, it often lists it will fit 821, 1200S as well. As long the passenger foot pegs are "right" version for the mounting. Hmm Think the can above looks good (the A model), looks like the SC-projet CR-T..Which Im about to buy, but Im not really sure, currently have an Akrapovic can on my 1200R -16, happy with it, just curious about the Sc-project CR-T. But what Im not sure about is the level of noise, so I thought to give the project-China a chance for a few bucks b4 buying the real deal. But if Im pleased with it, I might as well just as keep it Cheers
The Monster 821 and 1200 ceased production in 2021 so the advert stating fits models from 2019 to 2023 is inaccurate. Could just be something lost in translation but for me, there is too much negetive feedback not to think it's just another chinese rip off that's not worth the price of the postage. Andy
Thanks for your reply, Im curious though looking at SC-projects homepage, cans for my 1200R -16 would fit a 821 -20, and the S-models incl anirversario. So if the china companies states it would fit a M1200S -19, and the diameter of the end can is 51mm as in their ad, it should fit? I would buy it to get a "sound check", since its similar size as the CR-T can Im thinking of If its to loud I might pass on the CR-T and save those money, Cheers
I took a punt on some Chinese carbon cans and link pipes. I'm generally a fan of china produced goods and have a lot of good experiences. Those were not. Beautifully made, immaculate carbon and the welding on the link pipes was first class. They just didn't fit, not even close.
A chap I know has a SC project on an Aprilia RSV4, it's unbelievably loud. I'd stick with the Akra personally.
You just can't generalize as SC-Project has many different models for the same bike. Some are loud like the CR-T and some are not. I have the SC-Project Carbon and it's not that loud even without the baffle.
I have never heard one that isn’t ear splittingly loud. They tend to be short end can with zero baffling and 110db at tickover!!
They're not all short and loud either. I have one of these and they are Euro 3 compliant. At the time, I also had a US version Panigale (which is one of the loudest stock production bike available). Therefore, I tried to replicate SAE J2825 and measured the difference both at idle and at 2000 rpm with a decibel meter. I figure that if the Monster with the SC-P (baffles out) is no louder relative to the Panigale then I would have the high ground in court if it came down to it. Conclusion: The SC-Project Carbon Conic is no louder relative to the stock Panigale. Before you ask, it measured about 92 at idle and slightly less than 100 at 2000rpm. The Pani was 97 and slightly more than 100 at 2000rpm (note that the Panigale idles near 2000). Notwithstanding, these absolute numbers are really meaningless as a slight difference in testing length and angle will make a big difference in the results. "Relative loudness" are the operative words that were important for me. By comparison, Using SAE J2825, a stock Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak with the stock Termi obtained the following reading with my Radio Shack Decibel Meter as shown: 87 db at idle About 90db at 2000 rpm.
I also have a conic fitted ,its fruity ,but not ear splittingly loud ,unlike a blade i was following with a Austin Racing can ,ridiculously loud and was setting off car alarms as we passed through built up areas .
Small mufflers = small noise control, pretty much. But you cant complain about the price! KO Light Ning! Lols!
