  1. As per title…looking for right hand side wing

  2. Can I ask what you mean by ATR?

  3. I have been trying to find out the difference myself but have drawn a blank. From what I can tell there are two different types of Carbon Fibre used on the early R machines. SFC and ATR. Significant difference in price originally but I'd hazard a guess that it's something to do with how it's constructed. Hopefully someone will be along with a definitive answer as it's been bugging me for a while. I've been looking because I have a spare nose cone and was contemplating selling it but don't think I will now.

I haven't got a spare wing unfortunately and I've never tried to order anything from this parts website so not sure if they are still available new.

  4. I will ask and find out.

  5. ATR is a brand of carbon fibre. All the carbon on the 996R should be ATR and I think the 998R used them too. They have a very distinctive weave pattern to them and are getting extremely hard to find nowadays.

  6. Interesting. How do I tell the difference? I have two sets of 749R 2004 carbon fibre fairings

  7. Google atr or have a look at the weave on a std 996/8R then compare it with what you have.
And if you’re lucky enough, you may still find the sticker on the inside.

  8. Perfect, mine is all SFC on my babyR but I have the front part of the seat unit from a 999R and will check that when I strip it for cleaning. I figured it would look different but wasn't sure. I'm guessing they switched brands because of costs, bit like them going to plastic from carbon in 2005 on the 749. Thank you and apologies for the slight thread hi-jack @Chiff69

    Hopefully you'll find a wing.

  9. I have spoken to my mate who has access to Ducati parts catalogue as he works for them.

62B is the 999R left hand panel
61B is the 749R left hand panel

given Ducati were not making money on the 749R it’s no wonder they chose a lower cost panel for that bike. Carbon fibre panel aside, there will be not a lot of difference in the build cost between the 749R and 999R.

Maybe the 749R panel was supplied by two manufacturers? Always still a possibility that they shared the same part number but that’s not usual. I will check the panels I have

  11. ATR make the 999R panel
    SFC make the 749R panel

confirmed to me by Ducati parts dept.

on another note. Anyone know how to refresh the paint on a 749R panel and accommodate the logos which are left unpainted ?
