I had my riders seat profile altered to give a flatter seating surface hopefully to help with the comfort. I find that even with the comfort seat I’m aching after only 70 or so miles. I had both seats recovered and I think they look great. I don’t know if the seat is any better yet but first impressions are good.
I wanted a flatter and higher seat for my V2S. Here's the before picture with the standard seat in the low position and the after with the Ducati comfort seat in the high position with spacers added. I can happily ride all day long so this works for me. BTW - @aviating cud - check your seat - it looks like it isn't located properly (see below) @pcn1 who did your seat? Looks great!
Oddly, I found the original 2010 Multistrada 1200 seat more comfortable than the 2012 Ducati comfort seat, despite having less padding. I think it is because of the flatter, wider profile. Not ridden my V4 yet but that saddle seems to marry the wide, flat profile with decent padding. Fingers crossed. Andy
Trimmania.com These guys based near Reading, Berkshire. Wasn't cheap as there is a lot of fancy detail work. My reason to do this was I'm 6'4" with 35" inseam, and I need to sit at the back of the seat as hi as possible. With the stock seat I just kept sliding down and forward every few minutes then having to push myself backwards and up. Terrible design
I actually had so much trouble with the seat I ended have to visit the doctor to investigate the pain in my testicles. The comfort seat is well named
It’s a copy of the seat I spent some time designing. Although I can see the padding is all wrong. By the looks of it, no Gel pad either. All you had to do was ask, I could have got one made for you.
Can confirm, Sam got my seat sorted, and I couldn't be happier! I'll likely still get a Corbin seat at some point for really long tours. But so far, I am very impressed! I even rode my bike for 14 hours straight from Northern Spain to Amsterdam and zero pain issues. Just old bones.
Sam, so it was your piccy i was looking at earlier b4 I got it made. Trimmania are almost on my door step, and like I say it took several reshapes of the foam to end up at the "near flat" surface that seems to suits me (just like the new V4 Multi, that's a near flat surface seat) , so lots of back and forth. Its a nice place to visit, they always have old classic cars in there getting tens of thousands of pounds on re-upholstery done. Gel, I've read different opinions about that. Some say good, some say memory foam is better. Whatever, I don't know, I'll say whatever makes you comfortable works best. I'm happy with it so far, a few long days in the saddle and all good. And I'm an awkwardly uncomfortable person, even on my sofa at home !
I bought a slightly damaged Seargant seat kit, you get foam and a cover, paid £100 of eBay and it's worked a treat if anyone has sat on an S1000xr the seat profile is the same like you say in it rather than on, not everyones taste I'd say.
