The bike had the BBS unit changed and the bike shop has not re enabled the quick shifter, can this be done on melcodiag or is it a dealer only job? Had the bike a shade over 2 weeks and of that the bike has been back in the shop for 12 days already, not exactly filling me with confidence at the moment. It's a Ducati dealer incidentally!
the Quick shifter is a dealer only reset I'm afraid but it's so crap why bother, mines disabled as I can't get on with it it's terrible.
That's strange, the QS on mine is silky smooth, up and down, no issues at all, next time i am close to the shop i will pop in and have it re-enabled
The offer is much appreciated but I am in central Scotland. I will pop to the dealer when I get a chance, they said it only takes a few mins. Cheers anyway
Had the QS re-enabled at dealer on Friday, all good, the best one i have used so far, the auto blip is great too.
Hi - what QS are you referring to? I'd love to get a QS for my 1200R but have been told this model doesn't react well to QS's.
The QS is standard on my 1200s, not sure if it was on the R, it's smooth too, one of the better QS I have used.
The OEM version works well IMHO on a 1200s. Seems a little odd that Ducati didn't fit one as standard or offer one via Ducati performance. I've no experience of an aftermarket QS, but some might work better than others. What specifically is the poor "reaction" a 1200r might have to a QS? QSs have been around for donkeys years now on all sorts of bike, some might not work well, some might not be properly installed but its well matured tech on the whole. This thread might help. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ducati-quick-shifter-on-monster-1200r.56234/
The 1200R has a totally different ecu than the S , you can fit a aftermarket QS ,like a Healtech for example ,but this will be upshift only .When they say the 1200R does not take well to a QS ,i think they mean that if it is not fitted well or used incorrectly ,you could well lunch the gearbox .
