  1. Yea. Very dark chocolate! Family pet that was bred over Forest of Dean way, not pro breeder or KC etc just a single mum with to a nice working bitch and her mate with a nice red cocker boy making a few quid while warning to keep one themselves

  2. The beagle often pops on my lap for the odd call - rumours are she makes more sense than I do in some of the public sector meetings! Its been a good ice breaker a few times, when were about to go on a call and rip their IT system to shreds the bikes in the background and the dog on my lap gets us off to a good start. Had the pups in here one day, no one cared about their computers that day

  3. Nice. It’s better/less to worry about when you know the owner. What are you feeding him? My totally non-pro tip is get him on the tripe and goats milk :upyeah:

  4. My plan is raw food diet. He’s on the dried stuff at the mo while I do some more research. The cats loved it and did well on it. IMO dogs are built to eat nose to tail and have some supplemental veg as they don’t eat the whole rabbit they don’t eat what the rabbit ate.

  5. I've tried to get Iggy onto raw food, but each time I give it to him he just looks at me in disgust and disappointment before taking himself off to sit under the coat rack sulking and glaring at me.

He's into this stuff at the moment (tripe, chicken hearts, liver and salmon). It's supposed to be fed raw, but because he is fussy, I lightly dry fry it for him. Thankfully, it's not as smelly as most tripe recipes, so the house doesn't stink like a farmyard. I mix it with some dried food, some brown rice and raw carrot or carrot and swede mash. I'll sometimes also grate a bit of mature cheddar on top or mix in some scrambled egg.

How has the cat(s) taken to the new arrival?

  6. Cats have gone. Alas where we live doesn’t seem conducive to cats: we’ve had 4 in 6 years where we had 3 in the last 20!

  7. Sorry. I thought I’d replied.

What happened to the cats? Gone as in “dead” or gone as in “rehomed”?

FWIW, one more piece of pup-related advice. Try to train him not to bark when people come to the door. If Iggy merely suspects that someone is approaching the house, he immediately activates Threat Code Alpha and barks like buggery until he gets to encounter the “intruder”, at which point he decides he just wants a tummy rub from them after all.

Given that he has pin sharp hearing and I’m mutton jeff, he always hears visitors before I do and so it leads to situations where he’ll be sitting on my lap with his head on my shoulder and then without any warning whatsoever he’ll be barking at full volume right into my ear, almost giving me a heart attack in the process.

  8. One was killed by another cat. Next we rehomed and turned out he had kidney issue and within a year had to put him out of his misery. Next was kitten we bought and barely 12m old and hit by a car. Last was a rehome that was mental: hated men and pissed everywhere and even vet couldn’t help nor look at him without attempted murder…. so had to re home him to a single woman. He ran off from her a week later….

  13. That’s do sad. I feel your pain man, we lost this one, barely a year old, on a rural road close the home and thankfully someone picked him up and took him to local vets who checked his chip and called us
