St 4 temp help

  1. I've just got my radical st4 project started and think I have a problem with the temp sender. I was wondering if someone has noticed at what temperature your fan cuts in on your st4. Mine went up to 180 deg which I thought was a bit high. But I may be wrong. Can anyone help please.

  2. Mine seems to cut in around 105 but I don't know if that is Celsius ? Hope that helps a bit.

  3. Sounds like your reading Fahrenheit so 180 is around normal running temp. Fan will cut in about 210 or so iirc

  4. Thanks guy's I'll let it go up to 210 and see if it cuts in. I got a bit worried and turned it off at 180 deg F.

  5. 180 deg F is only 82 deg C :upyeah:

  6. Thanks Nelly. I just looked at the big number and shit my self. lol

  7. I put a switch in the temperature sender circuit on mine to turn the fan on early. I found that if I left it until it turned itself on in traffic it was always a bit too late and got too hot. Now I always make sure the fan is running whenever I get into traffic no matter what the gauge says...

  8. Mine is around 100 - 105 also.
The manual states that the temp display will flash at 120 degrees C and recommends that you stop the engine if it stays at this level. Thank God you were reading Fahrenheit somewhere or else something would have melted lol

  9. Seems the temperature sensor is not too accurate on the sts

  10. Mine cut in at 103C today, so its about right i guess.

  11. I live in southern Spain so it only cuts in in traffic at 214ºF, always has with no problems :):upyeah:
