Hi all, I have a 2019 1260 multi, and have the DQS error. Can anyone help me with the latest(version) part number for the sensor please? I have searched online and I just get aftermarket versions. many thanks in advance.
What is the problem you are experiencing with the DQS and what sensor are you referring to?? I've had the quickshifter itself replaced twice due to failure, fortunately both times covered by warranty.
The sensor connected to the quick shift. Im not sure how else to say it. `see pics (hopefully they will show). bike is out of warranty, but only done 7000 miles. the sensor wires are no longer connected to the loom, they've broken right at the connector.
I don't think that part is available on it's own, it only comes as part of the quickshifter I believe. However you should be able to get a new plug and get it re terminated, worth checking with a dealer, I'd enquire with Neil at Cornerspeed, he would know.
I had to change mine on my 1299, it wouldn't upshift, I took it apart after fitting a new one, adjusted the switch parts and I think it will work, if nothing else the plug could be cut off and put on yours. Perhaps somebody with more knowledge could confirm if it will be compatible. Box is from the new one. If you give me a few quid for postage you can have it.
Kartman, thanks for pointing me in the direction of a good person. Appreciated. Andrew 46, thank you. that's very kind of you. I'll PM.
I would suggest checking with the dealership / person where you got the bike from, as there was a recall on the 1260 with the QS mechanism, due to the curvature of the cabling. Your bike should have also been subjected to this recall and might not have had it, looking at your QS issue. It might well have of course, in which case my suggestion may well not help, but worth checking out IMO!
@Johnsosn If you're not already fixed-up get in touch - I'm fairly sure I've a cable in my box of bits. Alternatively you might want to upgrade the sensor to a Translogic solid-state one which is an improvement over the oem unit with its crappy switches. However the DQS logic remains mediocre.
Many thanks Tony. There was definitely a fault with the way the cable was installed. Duncan, very kind. Thank you. I managed to get a new connector for my existing cable, I have attached it and the err message has gone, I just need to get out on the bike now to see if the problem is resolved.
Aprilia RSV4 '17 to '20 use the same switch but a longer cable. As there have been switch failures on the Aprilia - I had 2 fail, I made a replacement switchboard. As digging out the old switch from the original cover is a pain, I now make a full replacement which is plug and play. Basically remove the old black switch body and fit my new one. Takes about 10 minutes. Plug and play switch is £25 + postage.
The link to the threads on the Aprilia Forum. Second one has a picture of the unit. The first one is the background to the problem. https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?377296-Quick-Shift-failure https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?382227-QS-Switch
