I'm about to change the belts on my monster and have everything I need to do the job but need just a little help. I am going to use exact belts as they are a shit load cheaper than genuine but I have read somewhere that the tuning frequency for exact belts is 100 hz instead of the 115 hz for standard, is this correct? Also what torque setting do I use for the belt tensioner nuts?
110hz new belts 80hz used belts 25Nm for the tensioner nut. To remove the covers/work free of obstruction you’ll need to remove sections of exhaust. If removing the horizontal down pipe give the head nuts/studs a good soak with penetrating oil first. It’s no fun drilling out the studs! New copper nuts are a good idea to have at hand.
