I had one in red as I couldn't find a Mk2 seat so flogged it on ebay to a guy on DUC.MS goes by the handle of Dr Tom, he got wiped out recently and was waiting on an insurance assessor to decide if his bike was a write off or not. I think the seat cowl survived the crash.
Found by chance after about 12 months of constantly checking forums & eBay!! The unit currently fitted to my ST3s ABS was found on eBay and was originally in the (senna) grey. I had it professionally colour matched at a local body-shop to the faster shade of red . I have never seen another come up for sale since... Be aware that there are sometimes earlier units pop-up for sale but, the ST3s ABS has a slight 'hump' in the middle and thus the more generic ST2/4 units will not fit. -LaZ-
Hmmm............Matching uppers and lowers on this one Puffin64?!!! I have been thinking of getting rid of my ST lately but seeing this has rekindled my interest in it!!
Tried to get Nicky to do this on mine but she's refusing at the moment! Said its too cold or something! So will just put a pic of the bike up from the day I took it for a test ride.
I think i would be puffin a little as well, Blimey ! And here i am thinking i'd made some improvements to my ST. Calipers, clutch slave cylinder and new seat etc. Haven't seen one of those on E bay where do i need to go ? Credit card is ready
Here is one I took recently in the garage, no impressive backdrop I'm afraid but pleased with the effect.
Thanks. See? Nothing ugly about the ST if seen in the right light. Clearly, those who think the ST is a bit of a minger are 'unenlightened'
Yes, fair comment. From the front it does resemble a surprised tadpole in surrender mode. But then I ride it soooooooo fast most people only see it from the back. In fact on some rides I nearly touch 59mph.
The screen on your ST looks much taller than the one fitted on mine. Do you know what type it is and do you find it much better than the original for wind blast?
Dave's screen, I'm pretty certain, is exactly the same as Bulletbill's... It was an official factory option, but involves replacing the whole top half of the fairing. Not a cost-effective mod at all; you'd be better off looking for an aftermarket double-bubble or flip-up screen.
