Monster 937 Clutch Reservoir Rubbing

Discussion in 'Monster' started by TryHarder, Apr 14, 2024.

  1. Hi,

has anyone with a 937 had an issue with the plastic fluid reservoir rubbing on the mounting bracket? I noticed white plastic dust today and then found a pretty deep groove in the pot, the pipe is too short to move it too. Hopefully the picture will upload, although it doesn’t look as bad in the pic but it’s obviously been vibrating and rubbing against the bracket.

    Thank you.

  2. Tighten it up?

  3. I’ll have a look at my girlfriend’s 937 in the morning and let you know. Andy

  4. It’s tight, if you could loosen it and tilt it forward, and tighten it all good, but you can’t, at least not on mine as the pipe pulls it back. I can fix it in several ways but just wondered / warning people they might want to check theirs in case it’s a design flaw that could result in a leak etc.

  5. Great! Thank you, I’m wondering if maybe my pipe is too short or whether this is the same on everyone’s and just waiting to rub through and leak etc

  6. Here's mine, no rubbing.

  7. Thank you for posting, Hmmm well I guess when they made mine they used a pipe just a bit too short or pushed it on further so it wouldn't sit upright, oh well I'll wrap the bracket in some tape for now so the edge isn't sharp, I wonder if a sock would work.

  8. Did you buy from a dealer? If so, is there another there that you can compare with, then moan?

Replace the pipe with a longer one...

  9. So, fresh eyes and I noticed you can move the bracket slightly so I un-did the mirror bolt and turned the bracket forward slightly and hey presto it all sits correctly now, but that groove has worn quite deep so I'll get another reservior.

    Thank you,

  10. Glad you have found a solution. I did check the girlfriend’s and there isn’t a problem, got a good gap. Andy

  11. Glad to hear.

  12. Thank you for checking, looking at that long scuff I think it’s been pushed forward against the bracket in a previous life (I bought it used) and that’s moved the bracket, hey ho not the end of the world and an excuse for a Rizoma one :)

  13. Is it more than 2 years since registered - then might be changed under warranty? Did you buy the extended Ducati warranty pack? Might be a warranty claim with your Ducati dealer?
