Dear all. I am going to Bologna in a few weeks with a few others. So obviously I am wanting to go on a factory visit. I have checked on Ducati tour website, it is open BUT minimum purchase is 2 tickets. Unfortunately I am not going with motorcycle friends, so they have no interest in taking the second ticket. Has anyone come up against this before, and might anyone be looking to do a factory tour on 7th June???
Did you try going through the process? I just have, though not to the point of payment, and it seems possible to do this as one person. You might be confusing the strip, starting with "2", above the date selection calendar as the number of people going. That's just a control for the calendar so that it only shows dates with the required number of places available. No doubt to help with group bookings. Sounds great and something that I very much want to do. My partner has a brother who lives in Bologna, we might visit later this year. 10€ discount for Ducati owners too
Might take my old Ducati V5 for the discount lol, and many thanks for looking into the booking process too.
Visited the factory/museum alone and got the Ducati owner discount without going there with my bike (I was working locally for a couple months). That was 2011, though. What was cool for those showing up on their Ducatis was that they got a specific Ducati parking spot. If your bikes are registered (with certified ownership) on the Ducati official website (« my Ducati garage »), that should be enough for them to give you the discount, shouldn’t it? Just print your Ducati ownership card which shows your name and bike’s type and frame number.
I was there in September having bought a single ticket, and no proof of Ducati ownership was asked for (I took one of my V5c certificates, just in case I was asked)
Likewise. I too was there in September, they just ask you if you own a Ducati before taking payment. It was my second visit to the factory (the first in 2012), a lot has changed since, production lines are much more modern and robotized, Audi influence surely. I am glad I visited again. You can't take pics inside though.
Similar to my experience, the lady at the ticket office asked if I owned a Ducati to which I replied yes and was instantly rewarded with a discount on both tickets! The Ferrari museum in not too far away Modena is worth a visit if you’re that way inclined. Bologna is a great city to explore great food architecture and culture
Back in 2011, I loved the way they would slide the bikes hanging down the rail from the ceiling by hand. That was so cool! A bunch of 848s on one of the 3 or 4 assembly lines at the time. That and the dude showing up with little trolleys with the parts to assemble. I loved it.
I did the opposite back in 2001 with no Ducati ownership, with a friend in that area at the time travelling around. It wasn't until thirteen years later that i would have my first Ducati, it strange because possibly my 996 / 2001 was on their production line on that day but i didn't know what the future would bring............who does.
You used to wait in the canteen on the tour starting, I was amazed to see the workers enjoy a glass of wine with their dinner, what could possibly go wrong?
You are correct, when going through the process you can order one ticket, thanks for that! I am rather nervous I will come out with an order for a Ducati, that my feet can reach the ground on! I will get them to take my measurements, like getting a suit made..I imagine.
