  1. Thought id open this one up. Me and a couple of mates are going this year. Planning on taking My RSV4factory (well at the moment im 70% RSV4 30% Hypermotard) - we'll see....the last couple of years has been on my Zed....last year planned to go on the RSV but it needed Cam Chain tensioners and Griff at Aprilia Performance was booked solid so didnt want to risk it....year before i took the zed cos id never been on it before and this year would be the first year ive been there with the NiX30 fork cartridges so curious to see how it goes over the mountain section...

  2. I’m going in my van this year (after my Hypermotard dying on the way last year) with my 916 and green lane Beta in the back, looking forward to Michael possibly doing it at least twice this year?

  5. Not missed one since my first trip in '95.
30 days to go, it will be my first on the new boat.
Homestay in Douglas 5mins walk from the Paddock.
Planning on taking the SPS which is completely the wrong bike for busy traffic and any road with a speed limit of 50 or below (about 80% of the Island in TT fortnight) .
When not watching the racing I will probably be riding my bike or at Peel eating Ice Cream.

  8. Yeah - id love to go on the hyper but....
    1. Its offensively noisy....
    2. Its an old Ducati - so just sounds like its going to detonate any second...
    3. Slipper clutch (those spiders do just randomly break)
    4. Clutch basket does need replacing soon (very notchy) and im going through the zed at the moment (about 500 quid so far and counting) more cerakoting next month ending with a valve check...
    5. Tops out at 130 ish so itd run out of steam on the mountain. But, insanely fun everywhere else..!

All the above being said...its never broken down and the motor was built by Ducati John so its been built by the expert! - i dunno i might do...not sure yet....oil change on the RSV4 this weekend...ill try to get both ready then make a snap decision at the last minute....

  9. Don’t worry about topping out at 130, I ended up on my Beta last year and that tops out at 60!
Good fun on the green lanes though

  10. My hyper didn’t blow up so much as fried it’s ECU

  11. Just had a similar email, but we are sailing out on the 2nd from Heysham....
Apparently something to do with lack of berth availability at Liverpool.......

It's about time the Woolwich Ferry upped their game, and had sailings to the IOM lol

  12. I suppose it depends where you live, but I always prefer Heysham to Liverpool, because I dislike city driving and the minimal port facilities at Heysham are better than the non-existent ones at Liverpool.
The route from North Lincs to Liverpool is both quicker and shorter than the ride to Heysham, but the ride is just boring M62, with lots of smart motoroway sections. compare that to a blast up the A1 to Wetherby then Harewood, Pool in Wharfedale, Otley, Ilkley, Skipton, Bentham, Heysham. plenty of good fun roads and great scenery.

  13. Me going on the Pani hybrid. Only a 5 hour trip to ferry. Hoorah; not.
