Rossocorse - East London (expensive)

  1. Not sure I want to use these guys ....

I was recommended to them for my first years service from FWR tyres in Kennington..thought..great just up the road from work..rang them for a quote basically to change the oil (3.5k) and check the bike over...he wanted me to part with over £400 for the priviledge..

went to Pro Twins in South Godstone...£156 and a service with a smile..top blokes...anyone who has a superbike in bits in the workshop and is trusted with it..is good in my book..

I though I might save some money going independant...mmmm think again!!!

  2. £400 for a oil change!! Im guessing its just a visual check over?

  3. yep thats what he quoted me...told him i would be in touch....yeah right!!! in touch with reality!!!!

  4. I've been in contact with these guys since before I bought my bike (Ray was kind enough to offer to view a potential purchase if it was local - in the end, the bike came from up North).

I've found them helpful, and fair with their pricing. Yes, it's London, so the hourly rate is relatively high, but nowhere near as much as an official dealer.

The truly shocking part of owning a Ducati is the price of spares, though this is probably not so much a problem for buyers of recent machinery, as those like myself, that have waited for the bikes to come down to an affordable purchase price.

Since April they've serviced / replaced bits on the bike, and it's running really nicely. Sailed through the MOT yesterday.

Not the best photos of their workshop (this is the repair-jobs-in-waiting area), but gives some idea of the stuff they work on:

Plenty of exotica has been around while I've been in there - MHR's, 1198s, 999s, 998s etc, as well as the more regular bikes (plenty of Monsters)

  5. If I had left my pride and joy with a 'workshop', I sure as hell wouldn't want to see it in there....what a mess!

  6. It's the repair jobs in waiting area (as stated above), not the bikes in for service area, so bikes in this area are there for a very long time.

I should have taken photos of the actual service area, which for an independant shop is pretty spotless..

  7. I've used pro twins a few times very helpful bunch of guys defo recommended

  8. Most people in London use RC when they don't have to go to a dealer under warranty.

Have you seen pictures of their work area and Man creche?? Its spotless and everything has its place.
They have a breaking business as well now are you sure thats not what that area is?????
They are really nice guys and pretty passionate about their work.
    Have a read about them.

I am sure you have a quote for a service there ....
They have been so kind to people I know and care for quite a few of my friends bikes including superbikes.
Lovely blokes who know their stuff inside out....

When is someone going to make that avitar the other way round!!!! cause on my wedding day I had "GAME OVER " written all over my face :)
No longer married whoop whoop!!! :)

  9. My £0.02 on this one. In my opinion RC are a very fair and trustworthy service. Let me qualify this statement: back in 2008 I was in financial pressure and a demanding M750 with a broken tail and a few weeks later an electrical problem ( I was picked up by road service from SBK in Brands Hatch with the bike not working). In both occasions, RC gave me an initial budget and worked through it with me. In the electrical problem they went for a fix and we know how expensive electrical can be. At the end the bill was more than expected for my tight budget back then but above all very fair.

Yes, I recommend them. Also on the note of them being located in under train line arches, let's not forget a premium Ducati dealer south of the river is also located in arches. Overall, RC gets my thumbs up.

  10. I have used RC quiet allot. I now have a man cave to do the works my self. When I use to take my bike in they had no problems with allowing clients supervise and or help working on your own bike. Of course it's still full cost but you have the guidance of professionals who have been around and are factory trained. Yes they can be expensive on items but in the end of the day you get what you pay for, and we all own Ducati's, they will go the extra mile also, I have a trackday booked and just finished putting my m600 back together, yes it was some years ago, and was riding it to work to make sure everything was ok. While it was parked up a lorry hit my bike and took out the front end, nearly completely. I was due to be at Malory the day after next. I call RC, they had the bike collected, and waited after hours for me to arrive and then worked on it all the next day ready for collection at 6pm, so could do the track day the following day.

I would question if what they quoted was actually just oil change and check over, as I have never found them to be that much more expensive to others.
