Diavel My Diavel Carbon

  1. Took the plunge and bought this one. Only got it out for a quick initial run on Friday and completely blew away at how it handles, so light and easy to move about. Needs a good clean in places but looking forward to running it.

  2. That’s your exhaust flapper valve.

  3. Thank you for the quick response, it does?

  4. Flap. Servo actioned, computer controlled valve in the exhaust to control flow. Foe emission regs & tings.
Will eventually fail and seize in the open/fail position. At least all mine have:upyeah:

  5. that’s certainly handy to know for the future. Thank you.

  7. Nice bike, but that's screaming out for a different exhaust!

  8. One for the future but happy to hear recommendations ;)

  9. The exhaust flap has a default position of open, held open by a spring. It closes around 3500rpm and opens again around 5500rpm. It’s to reduce noise emissions so the bike can pass the EU tests/regs. At key on the ecu instructs the servo motor that operates the valve via a cable to cycle the valve closed then open again simply to test its working and the system is still capable meeting the noise emissions regs.
you can disconnect the servo motor from the wiring loom this making sure the valve is always in its open position, but this may cause and the engine management light on the dash to be triggered. To prevent that you can buy a small electronic gizmo from Healtech or vizi-tech (ducEE) that, when plugged into the loom instead of the servo motor, tricks the ecu into believing all is present, correct and fully functional. They cost about £50.

  10. Naaah - I love the Zard, sounds great and (bad angle on the pic) more importantly is shows off the entire rear wheel, which I love.
