Hi All, After a bit of advice/help! My '23 V4R is an absolute peach of a bike, have 3.5k miles on it but i'm having a bit of an issue with the clutch. It doesnt seem to maintain any clutch lever pressure when up to temp after being used properly!. I bleed it at the lower bleed nipple and have decent clutch pressure feel when cold but when i've been giving it some for any amount time it gradually loses clutch lever pressure and then have to pump the lever 5-10 times to get the pressure back when coming up to stop etc!? What's going on?
I'd ditch the stock slave unit in favour of a decent aftermarket one, with a larger capacity bore, which will reduce mechnical effort required as side benefit.
hmmm yeah good shout, it's going in for it's annual in a few weeks so will get the dealer to look at it. I hardly use the clutch, only when setting off and stopping! Is it worth it?
Perhaps not, but the stock one has never been anything to write home about. Plenty of more reliable alternatives out there.
Try bleeding at the top bleed nipple. That should sort it, but if it goes again, then the seals in the master cylinder will need doing most likely. Kits are available In fact, tbh, as it's a MY23, it's a warranty job
Oberon slave cylinder and get rid of that awful clutch lever. I had issues with mine and whilst out on a ride, the cheap as heck plastic knob on the end fell off never to be seen again. Absolute rubbish on a premium brand bike.
Best thing that sorts all clutch issues, is use Automec Dot5 Silicone fluid, used it on my 1098s,1200 Multi and 1299s.. no need to bleed again or swap out seals etc..
