V4 Pikes Peak Ordered :-)

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Coolevilangel, Jun 12, 2024.

  1. Ordered couple weeks ago with Ducati Worcester.
It’s being made apparently in June for July delivery.. excited.com
    Coming from a ‘19 1260s
    So hoping for good things.
The usual accessories will be put on at Ducati, grips/seat/full akra.

My question is the top box, I’ve currently got the top box for my 1260 which I’m hoping to take to the PP?
What fitting plate do I need for it to work?

pic of my 1260 I’m trading in :)

  2. Not sure about the compatibility of 1260 top box. The V4 top box part number is different and the Givi equivalents also have different part numbers. The V4 plastic top box mount is also different to the one in your picture.
Biggest difference I found changing from a 1200S to the V4 PP was the weight, the PP is 238kg kerb weight and my 1200 was 200kg. I also see from the photo you ran Michelin Road 5s on the 1260, the Pirelli Rosso IVs on the PP will give a very different feel. I ditched the Rosso IVs after 600 miles for a touring tyre, way too pointy and tippy for my taste. I also found the electronic suspension way too firm in Sport and the compromise for me, is Urban/full power/smooth. The seat, like every seat on every Ducati I’ve owned, apart from my 748R, is firm. Only words of caution I have, the bike is deceptively quick and I haven’t tried Race mode yet :D Andy

  3. Thanks for the reply Andy, the topbox for the 1260 is a monokey fitament, the setup I’ve got on the 1260 is the sw-motek with monokey adapter plate. (Gives a clean & quick release option)
From what I can see on pics the v4 looks like a monokey but can’t seem to get actual confirmation.
    all very ambiguous
Even lads at Ducati couldn’t tell me and have to go find out.
Surely someone’s got the answer from doing it themselves

  4. Definitely a Monokey V47 variant but the Givi Monokey V47 I had on the 1200 didn’t fit the V4. The V4 plastic top box adaptor plate moves from side to side as you lean the bike and the act of locating the box onto the adaptor plate requires a hard shove, something that wasn’t required on my 1200. Adaptor plate is this, https://www.ducati.com/gb/en/accessories/ACC012250. Andy

  5. I can’t see why the topbox will not fit.
I’ve just sold my V4 and have an Iconic Bike parts rear rack for sale with the Givi fittings attached to enable mono key fitment.
If you are interested let me know and I will take some photos.

  6. That would be great mate thanks, just looking for a definitive answer so I know what direction to go

  7. That’s what I’ve been eyeing up, it looks like it’s a direct bolt on to the PP and the box will fit straight onto it

  8. I went 1260 (and 1299s) to V4PP, I had a top box on the 1260, which I asked about swapping it to the PP, the dealer said leave it on the 1260 (it was part ex), they threw in a new top box and mount for the PP, might be worth asking if you've part ex'd.
You'll love the PP, the preload on the front will come out the factory almost at it's softest (my 1260 was the same), set that up for you before you do anything else :upyeah:

  10. @Coolevilangel, compared the Givi Monokey adaptor plate from my old 1200 Multistrada with the V4 adaptor plate and the 2 locating fingers on the V4 adaptor plate are a lot longer  Andy

  11. Thanks for that mate appreciate it

  12. Chassis Number allocated to my bike yesterday (I believe its ending the production line?)
Dealer has said next update they receive will be when bike completed and on route to them...
    God I hate waiting :joy:

  13. Nothing compared to the wait when they were first released.

    Believe me, it’s worth it!

But rumours are the V4 Multi will have a refresh for 2025.

  17. My dealer has said as much.

Just moved my deposit over from an RS to a 2025 PP and stick with the current PP until then. Basically ordered the RS after not riding for months, now I'm out on it again I know I don't need an RS.

  18. What’s the refresh consist of?

  19. Just a facelift model from what I was told with no major changes.

But I'd hate to spend on the flagship model for it to be outdated in less than 6 months.

  20. weird all dealers have a different take on it. mine reckons around 10 new bikes coming (pani especially) but he doesn't reckon the multi will get facelift this year but will for 2026. but essentially they know nothing for sure
