V4 Power Advantage With Race Exhaust & Upmap

  1. I know there’s the reported 10bhp when you add the race exhaust & upmap (evo)
Is there a torque advantage as well or just the bhp?

  2. The claim is about 5 lbs ft. If the gain is consistent ‘race’ exhaust upgrades on other bikes (my Panigale V4S), mid range delivery and throttle response are better. Most common comment I’ve come across with the Multistrada ‘race’ exhaust, is start up volume is much louder than when running. Heard a V4S with the full system start up at the dealers and it was a deal breaker for me. Andy

  3. The increase in mid range grunt is very noticeable, it feels like a different bike.

  4. My panigale isn't a v4 but when I had the race cans and upmap fitted it was so much smoother and throttle response improved.

  5. The difference will also be impacted by the “mode” you select.
I used Race Evo B at Misano, which sets DTC @ 4.
Race Evo A changes DTC to 2.
If my talent can keep up I might go “A” at Mugello next week

  6. Mines has full system and upmap, and I'm just back from touring europe, 2 up and fully loaded, and on the mountain passes, I was very rarely in 1st gear, it pulled round the hairpin bends no problem and powered out of them. The other single rider bikes were amazed with it, and they could get away from me, the torque is amazing. As for the noise, the bike was parked in a garage, and on start up, I used to set all the BMW alarms off
