V4 New V4 Imminent?

  1. The Ducati isn't made in China...the BMW probably is for the most part.

  2. Having owned a Gen 4 s1000rr the build quality is good, and very well thought out. Simple to work on. But, things like plastics and levers are horribly cheap feeling.

  3. Agreed. Paint seems about a thou thick too. Tapping with the fingernail feels like tapping bare metal…

  4. I think there’s a lot to like about it.

    44,000 Euros.

Would you bet against the rules being updated to allow a higher cap?

  5. Not just for Ducati and you don’t see the homologation bikes for the other manufacturers (not including Kawasaki) charging at the capped price. Andy

  6. Don’t forget that Ducati delayed the launch of the current R and announced it on the day of the rule changes that increased the price cap… That was not a coincidence and nobody else needed the price cap increased.

  7. No single sided swingarm? Nah, not for me.

  8. Welcome to the party ;)

  9. That doesn’t bother me, although I think the SSSA is nice for the road and maybe the DSSA could be reserved for the R.

  10. It’s growing on me a bit, but doesn’t generate localised swellings. The current pani V4 is absolutely beautiful from every single angle, this isn’t. I couldn’t give a shit if it’s 1 second a lap faster. It’s actually made me realise I need to own a current pani V4 before I give up sports bikes.

  11. Probably some deals coming up then!

  12. Do you think Ducati took it's styling clues from this ;) ????...

  14. I think opinions on looks change. When the v4 panigale came out I thought it looked shit. After a while I thought it was awesome and bought one.

  16. It's been dubbed the Panigale "Catfish", owing to its squashed front end. Just for a giggle I went on the configurator today and added the exhaust at £7K!, carbon front and rear huggers, wings, and swing arm guards, the belly pan, TPMS module, DMS module, carbon wheels, turn by turn navigation, that adds 12K to the price, a total of £44K for an S model. That's nuts.

  18. It is nuts, definitely. But totally believable too. Ask me how I know… :astonished:

But the ‘catfish’ award surely goes to the R1M.

  19. I call Bullshit. The plastics are just as poor. Furthermore the thread strength of the clutch casing and the clutch casing cover insures you will replace it at some point and charge you 4x the price. You are why Ducati charge nonsense for things. Oh, it's character. My arse is it. What's wrong with asking for Ducati to provide the value they charge you for?

  20. I’ll say it again, the fact they are top loading the sat nav and cruise control etc is cheeky… Yamaha give you the lot on a £10k bike, so do Aprilia and My triumph has it all and that was £14k
