Always been a needle for me....today on the block are my Brembo HPK's these are 2 years old this month....i ride my bike all year round, that being said during the winter my zed get religiously cleaned every week thoroughly, once a month, in this case, calipers are removed and cleaned - pads out, pistons extended, cleaned and greased along with the insides cleaned also....here they are after 2 years....not great tbh....
The previous set of HPK's on the bike were 20+ years old and were on my bike for about 3 years before they gave in and then that was to a shoddy replate job...once they started to go i found out they never stripped the previous nickel plating and went over the top...fuckers.... Anyway - back to these....im thinking of getting the plating removed and then getting them cerakoated or even coated in Xylan which is slightly better than cerakote i think....does anyone have any suggestions otherwise....i dont mind the cost...i just want the coating to last..! Personal opinion: Brembo's coating process has gone down in quality...
Nice if I could find that service but the quality of plating was nowhere near as thick as the 20 year old set!
A few years ago I went to a plating company in Brescia for work (aerospace connectors) and saw lots of Brembo and Marchesini stuff being finished, but their main customer was Beretta, lots and lots of 9mm pistol bodies being plated.
I had hel calipers on mine and used the bike 24/7 all through the winter, like you I had them off the bike as I had quick release lines, 58k on them and not a mark on the coatings. Pcr performance (omg racing) ask for Paul, the boss, were going to re do the coatings on mine but hel asked for the calipers back and just replaced them for r &d.
